Another Gasser back in my garage: looks good

Well, I have to thank Gary at Gran Prix Cycle. He called early in the week to let me know they had received a trade-in. 2005 Gasgas DE300 that was bought originally from Gran Prix. One owner, low hour bike that is in beautiful condition.

Can't wait to get this beauty out and get her dirty!

Thanks again Gary and Mike at Gran Prix!

Congrats Russ!

Looks like it's in great shape and does have low hours judging by the clutch cover.
I'd remove the fear fender hoop and add a brace instead. It will in the least bend your sub frame if not break it in a rough tumble. keep an eye out where the muffler mounts to the sub frame. Tends to break there. I had a 2006 which is basically the same bike. loved it, it had a 2k2 but I installed a 2k 3 for night racing.

Again good to hear your back in the saddle of a Gas Gas.

Thanks for the advice Roscoe. I ran my '03 without the rear light assembly as well.

I am glad to be back on a Gasser. Great bikes and I look forward to many seasons of great rides on this bike.

Any huge difference in flywheel effect between the 2k2 vs 2k3?

I don't think its huge, but definitely noticeable. The 2K2 allows the RPM's to build noticeably faster.
If your chugging along a gear high you would never know unless you are trying to get up out of that low rpm to higher rpm's with no clutch manipulation, by just letting the power build. It comes on quicker, easier and with a bit more authority is how I would explain it.
