Dakar air dates

Ran a search on Dakar,first show listed 1/6 on nbc sports channel.
Can anyone confirm I'm not missing something?Like to watch this every year and thought it started around jan 1st.

On my direct tv it starts on the 5th on NBC sports net work. Can't wait!

Thanks for link. Now I remember it starts later at new venue in peru/argentina,chile,used to start new years day back when they started in Paris.

Did you watch the highlites from last night? That dude on the Kawi...almost took a soil sample! Kurt C has moved up from 31st to 11th place! Johhny Campbell is not having a good ride so far!
