Just to let everyone know: Gas Gas 125 has a small/medium test in the July issue of Dirt Rider Magazine. This issue has their 2011 "Bike of the Year" pick and, just as a little tease, the Gas Gas 250 is mentioned in that article. Please forgive me for not telling all but GG lovers should buy the magazine to help support the industry.

I just got thru reading it fifteen minutes ago! Good things have started to happen since Clay and his brother took over the reigns!

As a GG 125 rider I need to find out exactly what they did to the powervalve "limiter". I wonder if it is as easy as flipping the front cover 180*...

If you havn't done that already you must do it now. The powervalve will NOT operate in the stock (factory position). I found out the hard way. I had ridden alot of slow bikes but none that slow. That changed everything...

So, I've been riding this bike without an operating powervalve??? Do I just turn the powervalve cover on the top front of the cylinder 180*???

I wasnt to impressed with the article, they put several out-of-class bike together in a heap and tested them against one another. It's almost as if the mags don't know what to do with all the Euro bikes streaming (starting to dominate) into the market.

In my cheap ass opinion, I would have rather seen a shoot out of 125 class, 250 class, and so on!

Don't be too hard on the DR guys. Back in late November, Jimmy Lewis asked me to send them a bike to test. I told him that the only bike we had in the warehouse to send to him was a 125. He told me to send it on. I think they did the best that they could with a bike that does not appeal to a lot of riders.

Some folks I talke to in Arizona were jazzed to see a 125 (any 125) in the article.

It seems the 125 bike is the new, "Can I borrow your bike?" - Bike.

Maybe it reminds them of the good ol' days.

I wasnt to impressed with the article...

imho, its a great magazine if you like to hear that ktm is the best bike in the world, or if you like stupid jokes as filler, or stories about the writers life.

the write ups always seemed biased and vague. the ads provided more info than the reviews.

i cancelled my subcrpition and the only difference is that my wife doesnt hear me yelling in anger while on the throne.

And I thought I was the only one.....

The article says the bike only has a 1.6 gallon tank, that cant be true? Thats a very damaging piece of info for most people that might consider buing this bike.

Unfortunately a large percentage of the riders in our country believe that what the mags say is the absolute gospel truth.

Agreed
Also the bike company with the biggest advertisement budget usually has a biased opinion from that mag too.
