Gas Gas meet n greet ride 3!

Ive been thinking about organizing another Western Washington Gas Gas ride out at Tahuya.
Sometime in January or February, or both. Let me know if your interested and we'll see if we can all come up with a compromising date.

Are only Washingtonians allowed? Can this canuck, that bailed on you last year, make it up to you?

Everyone with a GAS GAS, no matter what part of the world they live, is encouraged and invited. They can also bring a friend or relatives no matter what brand they ride. But if they ride orange they better have thick skin around me. Just kidding, most my buddies ride those K-mart Trail Machines. ;)

I just want those that aren't familiar with this area to know this area is not majestic as far as views and site seeing. It is a kick ass training ground and is best when it is the wet time of year, as it will be. There is a hell of a lot of tight single track out there. I could easily put together 150 miles of beat ya down trail in loops and still have ample to explore. It is dense forest and clear cuts, Glacial till soil with roots, stumps, and rocks.

Typically on these meet n Greet rides I try to run 2 loops each of 35 miles or so. With a lunch and B. S. time in between loops. That way if some need to get home to get to the honey do list they can do the first loop and B.S. for a bit and bail.

I also usually stop for Breakfast on the way out in Belfair for those that like to meet and talk before hand.

I will also be taking the time off between Christmas and New Years and no doubt I'll be going out for some training rides on a few of those days, if anyone is interested.

Jeff you and Les are always welcome to my rides no matter the brand.! Thats the least I can do for you two.

For those that don't know Jeff rides a sweet Husky TXC 450 and Les I'm never quite sure what he'll be on, usually it is some trick one off machine that rides like a magic carpet.:)

Roscoe

Actually Les and I share the Husky - it's more his than mine as it finds it home in his shop. It's his R & D bike...

And it's a Husky txc510 - not a 450 - and it gets the extra displacement from a longer stroke versus a bigger bore. As Les says "Torque Wins"... :)

jeff

Oh ya thats right thats the big, big bore husky.
Ya I see that husky just sitting there begging to be reved up, or is that reveruped  when I go over to Les's shop. Its a good looking machine.
I get to go pick my Gasser back up from Les on Friday after some much needed motor maint.

I look forward to riding with you guys.

My only conflict is the weekend of Feb 6/7. Any other time between Christmas and the Goldbar race on Feb 21st is good! Pick one and let me know, I'll buy you breakfast and bring some Canadian beer for the post-ride!
Cheers,
JP

What we should do is go up to BC and let Nerdforg show us around some of the goods in the Frasier. My passport is current!

There's lots of time between Xmas and the New Year for some romps around the lower mainland. McNutt, Vedder, Chipmunk, Squamish... there's even a boxing-day snow ride at Tunkwa Lake (Kamloops) being organized by endurocross champ Bobby Prochnau. Let me know your desires and the boys and I can put together a good little mini-event for any visitors... one day or multi-day!

But I've never been to Tahuya so am still looking forward to a trip there. Especially to meet "you alls" eh! :)

Hey guys, I'm checking into my schedule. I can't figure out what my wife did with our 2010 calender.
I know the 30th Of January is off as I have my Motorcycle clubs holiday party. I think the NMA awards banquet is one day the weekend before that, but will have to confirm. Other than that, I think I'm clear.

Throw out any date's that are bad or good for you. And we will go from there.

Roscoe

Reverup-At this point anything in Feb looks good for me.

Nerdfrog- I will work on finding a couple guys to come up and sample the Frasier with you, many of my most memorable days on a bike are in BC with a local guide.

Looks like we may need to find a compromising date for all in February. As I'm not pulling in a bunch of responses yet. We might need more time for this thread to take effect.

Grampy who came out last year, quit riding dirt. He is now riding street only.

TimH was still having stator or ignition problems with his 2004 last we talked. Not sure if it's ironed out yet or not.

The only date that might be bad in Feb. is the sunday the 14th for all the not so single guy's. Valentines Day:rolleyes: And it's a 3 day weekend for some.

Do you guys mind if a female tags along???? I have a 03 EC250 and doing the top end right now. I am new to this trail riding thing :D

Awwhhh yes, the dreaded ball and chain day.:D This day is definitely off for the Gas Gas ride.
lucky for me I converted my wife into a rider some years ago and thats probably what she'll want to do on Valentines. Amongst other things like have me, take her out to dinner, rub her back, etc. etc....

Debi, I welcome everyone. Females do not phase me! I know quite a few women that can give me a run for my money.
Would you be up for a ride before this Gas Gas meet n greet with my wife and I ?
It would help me gage your ability so I could set up the Gas Gas ride accordingly. I know everyone else that has responded is not a new trail rider.

I just had the top end on my 300 done also, not even broke in yet, just heat cycled it a few times. This weekend it will be done. :)

You probably haven't heard, but Reiter ( Gold Bar) Has been shut down for a while. It also will be reduced significantly in size when, or if, they ever open it back up.
The Frost Bite will not be at Reiter, nor does it sound as if it will happen in February, if it does at all. I can however tell you if they reschedule the event, the place it is projected to be held at will be worth coming down for and will be slightly closer for you and very similar to Reiter.

So weekend of Feb 6/7 is off and we should probably all rule out weekend of 13/14 for Valentines. That leaves the last 2 weekends left in February. Preference?
Were you planing on coming down for the day or the weekend?
