Gas Gas meet n greet ride 3!

I rode with TM Enduro one day, good guy that goes fast.

I met him up at..... I think it was the Webfoot Enduro, or the Scottish trials at Walker this year.

I think his name is Ken, but I meet so many people my memory slips me some times.

Anyone doing the Hangover Scramble at Washougal on New Years???? I plan on trying to :)
Just need to get my bike back together ;)

Bring your studded tires if it's nasty out.

I plan on just trail riding as much as I can from next Sunday through the following Sunday. Some with my wife and club, some fast, some slow, some work oriented, and some scouting rides.

Roscoe

Thanks for the welcom Roscoe.

I am shooting for it, but we will see.

I am trying to talk my brother into it as well since he too is a new gasgas owner and has wanted to hit Tahuya.

HAHA...studded tires ........I plan on just slapping on a new rear if I do it ;) This will be my first ever race so kinda nervous:o

Look forward to meeting you and your wife :D

So, is this riding area near Gig Harbor? My wife may have a course to attend in Gig Harbour on that weekend, and I may be able to tag along under the pretense of a romantic get-away and ride. ;)

What level of difficulty of riding do you suspect we'll encounter? Basically, are you planning for a mentality of Racing or Recreating? I can get through most things, but it may not be pretty.

Dale

I have the day off and am hoping to make it to the ride. Biggest obstacle for me is if my girlfriend and I will have bikes at that time. Working on a deal for a new EC250, have to see though...

Dale the area is withina half an hour or so of Gig Harbor, Thius area is relatively flat and a piece of cake compared to the Summerland stuff Ron J has taken me on.

Hey Dale. Keep it romantic and your better half should be good with it.;)

No worries! There is nothing too gnarly as Paul said. I will however stay mostly on single track and it can be tight and will have roots and rocks.

This is a Meet N Greet ride. My mentality is I do rides for fun, I race to be competitive. This is a ride so it's all about fun. everyone can ride how they are comfortable. The fast guys out front will have to expect rest breaks as the rest of the group catches up at intersections.

Hope you can make it. It should be fun for all.

Is there a way to push this out 1 week to the 27th? My friend's son is in the Navy, and will return from cruise on Feb 22. I know he'll be itching to ride, and this would be a nice thing for him.

I understand if everyone has already penciled it in, just throwing it out there.

I would like to. Especially for a guy who is serving our country. The problem is, I'm pretty sure that date would not work for some members that have been a part of planning this since I first posted.

I would be glad to take you guys out the weekend you mentioned if you were interested.

I was up in your area Roscoe on Sunday on the SM's

How was your ride ????

First off its a small world some times. You know the guy at the Burnett Chevron with the Gas Gas trials bike in the back of the red Colorado pick up. That is Troy Swettnam local 6 days fast guy and a good friend of mine. A member of my motorcycle club.

I used to ride dirt bikes all over up in that area when I was younger. It has changed alot over the years, unfortunately not for the better.

My ride was excellent! I took three women and a couple of guys on a 30+ mile ride of mostly single track trail. Took them over to Raines ridge for a little nostalgia. None had ever been there. This trail was originally built by Jason Raines a very good pro who grew up in the area.

When I came back to the staging area on Sunday who was there loading up but TimH, as we know him on here, and his Son. Looks like we may get another Gasser owner out at the Meet N Greet. He hadn't been on here for a while or riding much since he got his 300 back up and running.

I also rode out there on Saturday and did some trail maintenance on a section with a couple guys. I will probably take the meet n greet run through this one. Its needed work for some time and It had been bugging me for as long , but I just could not find the time. Now its out of my mind.

Oh wow......that is a small world....;)

Yeah that was my Gasser in the video...I let a friend of mine ride it while I was on my SM bike.....

I look forward to riding with and meeting you and everyone else next month :D

Our group of 7 riders ran into Roscoe & his gang on Sunday (1/17) @ Tahuya. Nice to meet you & thanks for the invite to the ride next month. It's looking like we'll have a group from Oregon headed your way.

We also got a 30 mile ride in Friday....wow, was it wet!

Should be a blast, see ya in a few weeks.

Hey Jeff, great to meet you out there!
That was the wettest I have ever seen out there. It made my enduro training ride perfect. We went through a couple spots that had our exhausts bubbling.

I did 45 miles with the group you saw. Went back to the truck to get a bite to eat and refuel and then everyone but my friend on his brand new Husky 300 bailed. One claimed his pu**y hurt, he had to call it a day. Yep he was the one on the orange thingy. :D
So Ben and I went over to the Howell lake side of the forest and put in another 25 miles of punishment right up until Dark. Ben drowned out his husky over on that side. The water was even deeper over there.

I Look forward to next months ride.

Roscoe

We did the Howell Lk Loop on Friday-when the rain was really coming down. I had a few "issues" of my GG not liking the deep water. A buddy snapped off a few pics on the rides, when he emails 'em I'll get them posted up.

Jeff

Here's a couple pics from my buddy, I think the lens fogged up! Sorry about the quality. The first pic was part of the Howell Lk loop on Friday, water was upto the carb.

Cool photos Jeff! The second picture looks like where I bumped into you guys.

Was the first pic on the actual Howell lake loop 2 track? It looks deep. The loop I do over on the Howell lake side only gets on the 2 track in a couple spots. But even in places on the single track over there where I have never seen a water issue, it was 3 feet deep and running like a creek.

I heard some places on the peninsula got as much as 6" of rain in 24 hours.

I cleaned out my carb today it had a bit of water, fern particles, and a little sandy grit.

Roscoe

Hey all. I'm thinking about bringing some of my pre 07 era parts and spares I have siting in my garage to the meet n greet.
Some parts are brand new, some used. The used ones still have lots of life in them. So if you have a 06 or older bike I may have something along you may want.

If any of you got good spares laying around collecting dust it cant hurt to bring em and see if anyone wants to talk $ :)
