Gas Gas Meet n greet ride 4!

Well I'm a bit later in the season than usual, but after much procrastination I am finally posting this. I've been very busy this year so far.
Wondering if we can all find a compromising date in our busy schedules to meet n go for a ride.

I'm shooting for one of these days as this is all I see open soon in my schedule:

March 26th or 27th. I know, I know, not enough notice.
May 7. This is the Saturday before moms day
May 14th or 15th.

This ride will consist of Tahuya singletrack here in Washington state, rain or shine. Singletrack loop in the AM. Then I should be able to get my wife to come out with the barbecue and cook up some dogs and burgers for lunch. Then another loop of singletrack for those interested in more.

I brought many Gas Gas spare parts I was selling last year and they were all bought up. If you have some you would like to sell, this is a good way to move them.

Let me know if you are interested in one of these dates so we can nail down the day. Then I will set up a meet time and place, also provide directions if you need them. I usually stop for breakfast before hand in Belfair. Your more than welcome to join me.

BRAAAAP!

Id like to come down for this. I live about 5 miles from Walker Valley ORV so thats my local riding spot, I've never ventured to Belfair. Suppose this would be a good reason to do it. :)

Definately cant do it next weekend, but ther follow up dates are wide open.

Roscoe,

I am in this year and will try to bring my brother who also rides a Gasser.

May 14 is ideal for me, but I could also do May 7.

Thanks for offering up another meet-n-greet at one of Washington's finest riding areas!

Cool, glad to see there is some interest guys.
The may 14th 15th weekend I could be persuaded to give a tour both days for those that come for a longer distance and want to make a weekend stay out of it.

Just give me a heads up.
Roscoe

That would be awesome Roscoe. We are really wanting to learn the area and to have someone with intimate knowledge to guide would be great. I will talk it over with my bro and let you know. We have a camper too, so no worries on an overnighter.

Oh I wish I could go but the wife has those dates locked up.

Wade, I think you need to bend over backward for her in the mean time.

Then let her know how much you want to attend this. It's only one day. Tell her this is the guy thats gonna show you one of the coolest unmapped trails up in the area you live in the summer after the snow melts. ;)

A closer look at our 3 calendars reveals plans on May 14,15. I could do the 7th though. Tough coordinating the work/family calendar with the 5 kids!

The unfortunates of this is she is going on a horse back winetasting adventure and has a few friends coming down from Sumas . And I got stuck with the kids. So considering its 4 things she loves to do Horses, wine, friends and time away from the kids. I don't think a diamond ring and a new Porsche would convince her to let me go. :D Thank you for the invite Roscoe and hopefully there will be another one.

I'm out for May,7th -15th. Headin to Homer,AK. to work on a friends house. He helped me build my house 21 years ago and is now calling in the favor.

Ok so Saturday May 7th looks like the best fit for those showing interest.

The first year I did this meet n greet I only had 3 Gas Gas riders come. Its not like there are a bunch of us in this area. So as I said in the past, 1 or none I'm still going riding, and I hope you can make it. I know at least one Gas Gas rider will attend, Me!:D

I will be eating a big Breakfast before hand and welcome you to join me.

I'm gonna stop and eat at Jimmy D's Restaurant which is located right in the town of Belfair across HWY 3 from Mc Donald's in Belltowne square, a small shopping center. I plan to arrive around 7:30AM.

If you don't want to stop for breakfast, I plan to meet at the Elfendahl staging area at 9AM ready to ride by 9:30'ish.

Anyone who is locked in for this date please let me know so I can plan for you and your guest. Also let me know If you will be meeting me for breakfast or the staging area so can keep an eye out for you. If you need directions to Elfendahl staging area I can provide them.

Roscoe

Talked to my bro and we are in on the 7th.

We'll be driving up that morning, so now breakfast for us, but thanks for the offer.

I'll also need some directions to staging from Portlandia.

Thanks Roscoe,
Russ

Hey Dusty what ya riding now?

Ya I should have mentioned that again. Those who don't currently ride Gas Gas bikes but are forum members and frequent this site are welcome also. Just let me know if you are locked in for the ride and I will add you and a guest to the list.

Roscoe, the Tacoma Motorcycle club is doing the Wet Duck Poker Run on Sun May 15th. They take over the whole staging area for the weekend.

I think the weekend before would be a better choice.

I am a maybe at this point and will be able to confirm closer to the event.

EDIT - just read all the way through the thread.

Cool guys, looks as if were gearing up for a good time. I will select Tahuya's best stuff.
For those that need directions use the mapquest link and put in your destination as Belfair Washington then use the directions to the staging area I have provided below.

http://www.mapquest.com/

Head west on SR-300 ( North Shore Road) this is the road that Safeway is on just off of Hwy 3
Go 3.6 turn right on Belfair Tahuya Rd
Go 1.7 Turn right on Elfendahl Pass Rd
Go 2.4 turn right to Elfendahl Staging area

mileages are approximate.

One other thing for those Going on SR-16 to cross back over the Narrows Bridge (East bound)there is a 4$ U.S. per vehicle one way toll. If your bringing a motorcycle trailer, that fee goes up 2$ per axle of trailer.

I look forward to this day!
Roscoe
