How Long Have You Been Here ?

So I joined this Forum in 2014 and it seems that many people have come and gone . Some are very active and others lurk to see whatever they are looking for . It has been a valuable site for me to get information and the moderators do a great job . I am wondering who outside of Jeff who has been here the longest ? Thank you for a great site !

Just about 7 months for me. Since I got my first of hopefully several gassers.

Awesome resource and people. I look forward to meeting some in person eventually.

I have been a memeber since 2011 when I bought my 2011. I still love the bike and in the five years I have had it I have only needed to buy a front brake hose. The bike has been very reliable. I ride my 4T more now but got out on it for the last two weeks and still like how it handles.

I am getting ready to do the KYB conversion this next weekend.

I look forward to having it another 5 years.

My profile says I've been a member since March 2007...hmm feels longer
than that. :)
Been a GasGas owner since 2001-2002 or so....hmmm feels longer than that..
Cheers, JJ

Thanks for posting this.

I looked up gasgasman as he was one of the first to register after I created the forum. The discussion forum came to life on July 9th 2006 and he registered on that day along with MattR..

Our tenth anniversary is just one week away. :)

Time does fly by.

Jeff

March 2010 for me.
I mostly lurk around and find what I need.
I have found great responses when I have asked questions.
I'm not as active now that my body aches before I even load up the bike!
That and both teens are major Lacrosse nuts, just haven't had time to even think about riding.
I suppose I'm ok for another few months before I should panic, I have been riding 35+ years so I figure I have a few mulligan weekends saved up.

April of 2014. A few months before I bought my first gasser. This forum has been a required resource for me. I love how welcoming and patient it is. Not many, if any, other forums are like that. I've really appreciated all the help, and try to pitch in if I have some knowledge about something. I don't visit as much during the summer because I'm trying to stay busy dirt biking or mountain biking.

Ive been here since Smackover site shut down......I joined in 2006.
I joined Smackover in like 99 and bought my one and only GasGas in 2000.

October 2010 - after purchasing my first brand new bike.. a 2010 EC300 Euro.

Initially did quite a bit of lurking, and then many many amateur questions learning more about bikes than I previously knew, as well as all the gas gas specific knowledge shared by the existing forum members.

At some point during this the post numbers crept up, the knowledge base had been formed and when Glenn decided that his time here was up he put my name forward to carry on in his place as moderator. Probably added a few more posts since then.

Have expanded my knowledge around bikes further, improved my riding skills immensely, even upgraded the 2010 to a 2013.

I joined in 9/15. In 8/15 I rode the Buffloe 500 dual sport put on by the Stony Lonesome M/C up in Indiana on my orange EXC 450. That ride kicked my butt and made me realize that I needed a light weight, easy to ride, 2 stk enduro bike for those kind of rides.

I stumbled on my new favorite bike , a '01 XC 200 soon after and this site, soon after that.

I love the bike, I should've bought one years ago. And this forum is a real asset if you own a GG. I don't post much, but check in almost daily.

Rick your experience with the forums is the same as mine. We differ on the bikes though. I bought a GG trials bike in 98, my first GG woods bike in 2000, and have added 4 since. - Ken

Lurked for a year or so, then joined in '08. Have owned 4 Gassers and each was a fantastic bike. Still have EC200 and it'll stay until I can no longer get parts for her. Such a fun bike.

Hoping that the site will pick up some as Gasgas gets back going now. Really looking forward to what lies ahead and what Torrot has planned down the road.

With dual sport bikes becoming extremely popular and KTM selling out their 350's and 500 dual sports, I'd love to see Gas-Gas develop the old Husky TE line with the 250, 310 and 450 X-lite motor that Gas-Gas picked up the patent for. I believe they would be a great seller.

Ken.....were you on Smackover as?? I bought my bike from a member on Smackover.....Roostafish...who still hangs out here, but has since moved on to another brand. He was a old timer on Talking smack!

I've alway used "Rick" was my screen name here and Smackover boards.

Wow - I didn't realize that you were "that Rick". :)

I started on smackover in about 2000-2001 while researching purchase of my 2001 gasgas ec300 (imported it from canada so I could get full lighting & road gear and ohlins forks).

I took over running the "talking smack" smackover motorsports board in 2001 and upgraged the software. I ran that until smackover motorsports closed it's doors in 2006 or so... So I have been running these boards since 2001 - 15 years doing this - again, time does fly...

Besides the grief of threatened lawsuits - and dealing with a few "difficult people" - and difficult people threatening lawsuits...

...it hasn't been too bad...

Yes....same guy...same bike. When I joined Talking Smack I lived in Sacramento, then moved to Lodi and have been here ever since.

Yes, your right....former board and now this board has had its ups and downs.....but has stayed the course.......
Thanks for all that you've done over all the years and more importantly being part of the brand that seems like it's been through the washing machine on spin cycle more times than we can count! I dont mean that in a negative way....those that have been part of the history can relate.

I haven't been here too long...03/12. Used to visit often. Grandkids & adventure riding dominate these days. I've owned 3 Gassers...still own 2 of them. This site has been, and still is an invaluable source of GasGas specific info. I'm not giving up my Gassers anytime soon, or my other bikes:D

I believe my handle on Smackover was gasser and I do remember Roostafish. I was stationed at Little Rock AFB from 2004-2006 and got to ride quite a bit with Jim Cook and my other friends at Arkansas Dirt Riders.

thanx

this site has been a GREAT resource ! I was not as familiar with Gas Gas as I should've been in 2011 when I decided to sell them thru Clay. So, Ive been here since 2010/'11.. I've learned alot, and the brand fits with my love of 2 strokes...I own a few Gassers now...and some will be damb neato when I'm done, later this summer...
pics will be posted ...I'm working on a street legal 125 dual sport, and tagged 300 SM...plus riding the '15 EC125 I bought from Bud Matto ... MOTO JOY ! :D

I was stationed in Sacramento from
98- 2001 when joined. Talking Smack! Good times....Jim Cook and family were a hoot to chat with over the ordering parts.....or just bench race!
