HuskY engines on Gas Gas ??

http://www.enduro21.com/index.php/c...lls-off-‘italian’-husqvarna-engine-technology

Looks Like we will be seeing the gas Gas Four-strokes in the US Now ..!!???

As far as the twp strokes ?? Not sure what to say about this ......o:cool:

Looking at this statement, does this mean the GG 2t engines have been built by Husky all along?

The agreement includes the transfer and integration of technology in the R & D department of the Catalan brand, enabling it to manufacture in their Salt (Girona, Spain) four-stroke as well as the two-stroke engines, previously produced by Husqvarna Motorcycles s.r.l in Italy. - See more at: http://www.enduro21.com/index.php/c...qvarna-engine-technology#sthash.gek3szcd.dpuf

Looks like they are buying the intellectual property and my guess is that they are looking to get the 4t, but get both.

165 Kit Fit?

Looks like GG will get a good 250/300 4T motor and a good 125 2T as well.

Does this mean that the future holds 165 kit equipped Gassers?

I thought that the GG 2T engines were a Czech built Husky design.
I don't know why I think that, though.

The Husky 250/310 x-lite motors have been plagued with problems. Hopefully GG can fix those issues before incorporating them into their bikes.

GG does not mention it will replace the current 2ST with Husqvarna ones. Actually makes no sense .
The HVQ "piccolo" 4st engine is quite good performance wise . The 250 and 310 delivered 2 WEC titles to Meo and 1 to Salminem. Not sure if they can be compared to an RFS engine for durability . But there's still an open gap for a 450.

The italian designed and built 450/510 motors were great - I hope they didn't buy the bmw designed motors.... I own a 2008 husky txc510 - which is "all italian".

These motors w/ efi met u.s. emissions standards and are approved for sale in the U.S. :-)

The Pre-BMW 450 was a great engine. I would be pretty happy if that found its' way
into a GG chassis.

They can also have some cashflow selling motor spare parts for older huskies as well... I can see it now - an older husky owner buys a new ignition cover for his old bike from gasgas - and now his husky motor has GasGas logos on it... :D

I hope they don't switch suppliers on the husky 4t motor parts to any major degree - no reason to start over and end up with QA and tolerance issues, etc. Otherwise - sad to say that GasGas has a history of not getting things right "out of the gate"...

Little more banter on the FB page, I have been putting it into google translator, since I do not read spanish.

Question: Yo creo que los actuales motores 2t de gas gas, le dan cien vueltas a los de husqvarna, espero que no los cambien....

I think that current engines 2t of gas gas, give one hundred laps of husqvarna, hope to not change them...

GG answer: no los cambiaremos. B?sicamente seguiremos aplicando nuestros consolidados motores 2T, pero en cierta cilindrada nos puede ayudar la nueva tecnolog?a. Todo suma.

not change. Basically continue to implement our consolidated 2T engines but some displacement we can help the new technology. It all adds up.

We have a couple of Huskies - one with the Italian 450 and one with the first gen. X-lite 250 motor. The 250 did have a lot of problems, BUT I would still be very excited to see it improved upon and slammed into a Gas Gas chassis. It is a very easy engine to work on and is very compact. Hopefully they just use it as a starting point, upgrade/improve the starting system and stick a few more ponies in it.

I think this was a great move by GasGas. They cut years of development time and can build on what Husky had. I think Husky was definitely on the way up with the success of the 310. KTM may regret selling the technology:)

Absolutely, I had a 2009 TE 310 and loved it to death. My gasser replaced it and I would be thrilled if they put that engine in the new GG chassis

During my tenure at Husqvarna, I was fortunate to have unlimited access to several different models and must say the TE/TXC310 was by far, the most fun motorcycle in the lineup for woods riding.

Fall 2012, Jack Penton and I took a pair of TE310's and rode the LBL200 dual sport in western KY. We had an absolute blast on the bikes and swapped out with guys on other machines during the ride that also enjoyed the bike.

Putting this engine in a Gas Gas frame...guys good times are ahead :)

Buying the 310 engine was a smart move. Bmw was probably developing some new two stroke techology to update their line and GasGas got that with the deal.

It looks like GasGas just bought bought many years of research and development for pennies on the dollar. This should be a huge advantage for GasGas.;)
