I like the sticks. How much of this is going to Speedymaniac? I'll contribute my token, but if it takes away from what he gets ( I know this venture he's on, and indeed it costs a fortune), you can keep the cool sticker and apply 100% of the funds to SM! Are we not setting up a contribution to the cause? Does he have a paypal account? How about a mailing address? That would be even better, paypal takes a share.

I'm sorry if I'm behind the times here, but I rarely visit the general section, so I missed the boat. It was only after talking with Jeffd on a recent ride that I learned that Speedymaniac was even qualified for the ISDE. My help won't be much, but I'm happy to contribute, I hope most people can appreciate what it takes to compete in the ISDE and find it in themselves to contribute.

Thank you all!

From what I understand, until speedy heads off to south america - all profits go towards his efforts.

Jeff, do we go with the last design?

If it is OK with Jeff , all the profits can go to Speedy.
There are some logistical issues with payments and mailing out the decals.

I can have 50 sets done this week.

They didn't get the white border above the second Gas the same as the first Gas. I must be anal. Too much trim carpentry in the past.

This sticker idea is our way of trying to help make his dream come true. All proceeds will go to his (SM) ISDE cause. This was the sole purpose of this sticker.

After the ISDE we will still sell these stickers and the funds will either support the riders or help with the site. Jeff will figure this part out or we can all help him if he asks us.:D

gasgasman -
I like the scale and look of the graphic now. But I see that the second G isn't in aligment with the others letters at the bottom. The second G needs to be shifted or stretched downward slightly to bring it in alignment with the bottom of the other letters in the second "Gas". And now that I see it - it bugs me... I think this is a "quality issue" that they should take care of on their side - if not - I'll pick up the cost. I'll post a graphic with arrows indicating the problem in a bit.

flybars -
If you are talking about the outer border - doesn't that just indicate the edge of the "clear" of the sticker?

To all -
Yes, I think all profits go to speedy, but this site belongs to the entire community, so I am just "one vote" along with everyone elses... I believe boomhauer mentioned $15.00 retail price - this is consistent with what other sites have charged - dirtrider.net, etc.

After the ISDE, it would be nice to put money aside to sponsor another rider for next years ISDE. Right now, this site runs at a loss and I cover the "red ink"... Hopefully, dealer contributions will cover costs - but I may have to ask that the sticker sales go towards covering the cost of operation of this site...

jeff

p.s. GasGasman (& Boom) - thanks for doing this and sorry for being such a pain in the ass! :-)

I think I speak for both Girard & I. It is our pleasure! I think the sticker profits should help other riders and this site that we all love so much! This place has tons of information and the guys/gals here are very informative. My wife always asks why I spend so much time on one site? My reply is fuel for my brain or lack there of.

Even though we have a "Traitor" (MattR):p on here at times who has gone to the dark side! LOL (Sorry Matt I had to)

Jeff you are a pain but I guess in the long run it is worht it.

Text Mis-alignment.

Sorry for the delay - I drew an arrow on the graphic to show where the text is misaligned.

The new "G" looks good, but the other letters appear to have less italic to them. See my photo below and look at the centerlines between the G, a, s, etc.. I marked a couple to show what I mean. It's a minor detail but the other letters need slightly more italics to match the G's.

I'm a "traitor", so my opinion probably doesn't matter much. :p

Just tallied up my costs for gear/tools from one sponsor, which is most of my gear, a few bike parts and about 2/3 of my tools. Came to just under $2000. Add in another $7500 for a bike, $700 entry fee, $300 insurance, $1000 shipping, $700 for tire balls or mousses, $1000 in tires, $1100 for hotel, $1500 for flight, etc, etc, etc and this is getting VERY, VERY expensive. And I haven't paid retail on much of my stuff. Now throw in my regular riding/racing costs for racing around BC, Alberta and Washington state and let's just say it's a good thing I'm making good money, have cheap rent and am single.

Please, please buy some shirts and stickers!

Hey Speedy, are you a part of a motorcycle club? If so, and you havn't already, bring it to their attention they should donate to your efforts, this is a big deal, and for some guys it is barely possible cause of the cost.
The reason I ask is, our club donates a thousand bucks to any club member who qualifies and competes. I know this is just a small portion but every bit helps. Paul Neff has got the donation the last 3 seasons and this year we are donating to Troy Swettenam who made it on a club team. Paul did not try to qualify this year as he is trying to win an NMA championship, which he leads. He has decided on doing the Endurocross series instead.
Anyhow, I will do my part to help make it easier on you to fulfill a dream. We probably raced on the same courses in the past in Washington, Hannagen, Camp 18, Baker Lake. But probably never competed as I am only A level not AA. I've been scratching my head trying to figure out who you are. Are you on Canada's world trophy team or a club team? I saw Klade Glasgow is on the world trophy team again. I have seen him down here at many Washington races in the past on his Kawasaki and the last few times I think he was on a "gulp" do I dare say it, KTM.
Also I do know a few who have went to Six Days and If you would like to pick their brains about what to look for and their experiences I may be able to help with that also.

Roscoe

Hi Roscoe,
I haven't done any washington races to date - there's issues getting the stickers and stuff to be legal down there. I race the A class up here, not AA, on a 2001 GasGas EC200 with #26 on the number plates. I mainly race in the BC Interior (Okanagan area) in the ODR (www.odrracing.com) and PN Interior series. Last weekend I went out to the CMA Western Canadian Championship Harescrambles in Alberta.

I was supposed to be on a club team, but Klade had to cancel from the trophy team, Bob Reed took his place and now two of us are going as individuals. Canada does things a little different in that we are essentially one Canadian team. We all help each other out, no matter if it's trophy, junior trophy, club or individual level.

Unfortunately my club is not in a position to donate money. We're barely scraping by as is trying to get the motocross track up to snuff.
