Looking forward to these new Goggles

ya like i said since i cant get out, ill fire the bike up and just take it for a rip down my block in the daylight and see how that one turns out, im sure it will be much better as my 1000 dollar hd camcorder is like this at night without an add on light but daytime is absolutly amazing

Looks Ok to me Trev.
What model did you get? I ask because you up loaded at 720p only. But the #367R Impact Series states HD1080P? Just wondering.

ya the 1080p isnt available quite yet, i believe its available this fall and its 60fps, i bought the 720p for 2 reasons, A- i didnt know if they were going to be junk and B- the 1080p series is going to retail around 400 bucks! there is a short clip on there home page by futureshop at the CES show and the rep for liquid image stated thats how much the 1080p 60fps will cost. i dont think i can ever justify paying that! these ended up costing 245 to my door which i can live with:)

Can you remove the frame portion that the foam is on somehow to clean it, or remove the camera part? Replace the foam and/or lens? Goggles get nasty and I can't imagine not being able to wash them. Plus I wear them out seasonally.

yeah, you would think that they would have to sell new frames so that you can degrunge them year to year.

hey guys i looked today and yes the battery, lens and flash memory port all come off the actual frame that houses the lens so if you damaged the frame or lens you could replace them, however if you smash the camera your hooped.

Anymore rides with the new goggles? I've been wanting to get a helmet cam but I think these things might be the way to go. Sure would like to see some more footage and what you think of them after using them awhile. Thanks! Ross

Hey all I finally got out today with the liquid image googles and the first impressions are NOT GOOD. First off they don't fit inside my helmet flush to my face because of my helmet opening. I wear Troy lee helmets so I thought I'd try a fox helmet and same thing, the battery portion makes the google slightly to wide. Secondly when I tried to force them in a bit they fit a bit better but I looked down and there was the battery sitting in the mud:confused: my buddy tried them after me and he put them on and the battery cover popes open again! There is nothing wrong with the camera it's just a bad design because if you push the goggle in that is the opposite of the way the battery closes. Anyway I'm pretty bumbed and I'll try them one more time but maybe they'd work better with a different helmet with a bigger opening but I'm quite dissapointed in the overall product for the money. I'm going to sell them if I can't tweak them and buy a go-pro

@#$% !!

That really does suck Trev. Anyway of taping the battery cover or modifying the goggles to work or do you just think it's not worth it.

Well I'm going to try and tape the battery door closed but the fittment is just really not close when it comes to comfortable especially for a 4 hour ride! I like getting some footage of the ride but not at the expense of being uncomfortable for that long. I'll fart around with it tomorrow and see what I can come up with but seriously consider what I said before you buy them, I'm not BSing you they were quite a disappointment for the initial ride.

Well I taped up the battery and took the nose insert off my helmet and they fit slightly better now. There not uncomfortable anymore just a strange fit( I still have to push the googles in very hard initially to get them to fit half decent). I'm going to try them again tomorrow and post a short video. The video quality seems pretty good and one thing I do like is the ease of switching between video and picture. It's also nice to quickly( while I ride) stop or start recording with my gloves on. This way I feel I have a lot more of the trail footage I want and not so much of the everyday riding to get to the technical sections.

hey claude, ya wes said the same thing, maybe they fit helmets a little differently. i tried them again on saturday and got them to actually fit half decent and the quality of video is very good (even with the low light and pooring rain) im trying to post a youtube video but im still not quite sold on the fit. ill try to get the vid up in the next day or 2.

Sorry Trev for not responding to you vid. I watched it before work the other day and never got back to it.
To say it was raining was an understatement everything looked washed out to me. Only a diehard fan of riding can really have fun on these days.:D ( lived near Drayton Valley for a year and when it rained....)

The sound on the unit is 100 time better than the Go Pro's (one of the biggest cons of the Go Pro IMHO) It was Crystal clear till you hit some branches. I wonder if you got some water in the mic? The video quality is definitely par to the GoPro. Nice deep rich colors.

Hey it looked like fun to me. I noticed your buddy (Ryan?) had a GoPro on his helmet...did he take any video it would be kinda neat to compare the two if he did.

yup thats the bro inlaw on his new sixdays 300, he had a go pro on so ill get some vid from him this weekend and post a comparo but i was much more pleased with the goggles this time out. i have them fitting half decent and i too liked the sound. im interested to see what the quality would be like in good light? were going out on saturday so if its sunny ill get some footage so you can see the camera in good light. im starting to warm up to the goggles though because man its easy to adjust on the fly,and when they fogged up i turned them around and the footage was actually really cool

Does the manufacture of the goggle suggest using 'RainX" on the lens to avoid water droplets? I didn't notice to many on your vid considering it was down pouring the whole ride.Or maybe it was shelter well with your visor.
On another note it really doesn't matter what camera you have on...you sure can't pick out much elevation change of your ride while watching any video. Although I know you did some major hills and valleys.
