Members and especially new members: General forum content

I have noticed lately that there are a a fair number of threads started in the General forum that would better fit in one of the technical forums. Please consider this when posting and leave the General forum for non-specific discussion. Thank you.

What levers cross over to my 07 GG? I am guilty of this from time to time as it seems the general forum gets more hits than the subforums. Lots of new folks on here though so it will be usefull to have it broken out.

The simple solution to not missing a gem of a post is to click the "new posts" at the top of the forums page. This is something I didn't know about for literally years.

Exactly. That is the only way to look at things.

I've moved a few threads already and will continue to do so to clean things up a bit.

This is typical of forums. New users tend to post where they see the most activity. On the forum I admin, I just go ahead and move topics to the proper location without leaving a shadow topic (this just clutters things up). The GG forum is well laid out and eveyone should easily locate a moved topic.

I agree. I put a 1 week redirect on several threads. Next round will be a straight move.

Again, please do not use the General Forum as a dumping ground, use the appropriate technical forum. I have moved a dozen threads this morning alone. No redirects this time. Thanks.
