needle problem?

was out with a few friends last weekend and come to top of a hill with loads of mud there 04:39 so gave it a good rev and made a good awful noise and didnt seem to rev very nice, it does it from time to time again always around the half throttle

i did have a jetting problem few months but that was all sorted on the dyno well so i thought

any ideas? i'll get the jet sizes/ neddle hight/ air screw turns tomorrow
 
Maybe the choke plunger is stuck open, or the seal surface is damaged. I agree, this is not just something a needle clip change will fix.
 
Oh and i bet your sick of the gas gas comments from tilts lol

i'll check the choke pluger for dirt also i'll spray somthing flamable around all the seals for the intake see if it revs up, its always done it even after i had it put on a dyno to have the jetting sorted, they done the low end bog problem but but i still have the half throttle problem its not so much bogging but feels like its holding back then clears if i shut off the throttle then twist it open slowly also its pefect riding on the road and on the dyno only does it when the bike is under load then going over mud and the engine revs up quick well try's to lol
 
I wouldnt throw money at dyno tuning , its not real world and they tune mainly for all out power , have you checked the float heigh and condition of the reed valve , crank oil seals , clean air filter , oh and dont be using that filter cleaner that tilts uses .... Leaves the filter nice and sticky he said :eek:

float hight is correct, reeds and crank seals are a few months old and i use no toil filter cleaner and oil and its cleaned after every ride... aint had a chance to look the bike over yet but should have time tomorrow to have a look so will let you know

bit of an update....... ive bought a new plunger and its a hell of alot better but there is a small splutter around the 3/4 to full throttle if i open it up quick but if i slowly open the throttle its fine
 
bit of a slight update i put a 180 main in the carb and went for a ride in the woods and it made the WOT worse so going to put the 182 main back in guess i'll have to live with the WOT problem i cant figure it out lol
 
Maybee you carb is just worn out , if you want I have my as2 carb you could try , I got it pretty much dieled in for my 300 before I got the smart carb
