Claude,

I agree, what I mean is instead of getting your fingers between the edge of the filter rim and airbox, compress the foam from the top/outside till you feel the cage and wiggle it around a little, if its not seated it will pop right in from the spring plunger pressure. Seems to work on my bike. Perhaps that 5 pin Twin Air cage is a real good idea on this bike.

So the shrouds simply have tits that pop into gromets in the radiators, top and bottom? Think you could use the current rad frames if you mod that shrouds to be screwed on? Thanks for the insight.

I think you could. I modded my '07 top mount so I could bolt it.

I really wasn't trying to buy a new set of pegs for a new bike again. My 2011's broke on day 1 with a light tipover on a hill............

Mine are bolted on top too. Sounds like a plan. For pegs, I'll move the Pivot Pegs from the '07 to the '12. Think that battery box could be used to stash a small bottle of oil, or some othe basics? If its a PIA it might as well be useful. Maybe design a seat catch only thats easily removable or not in the way and ditch the box?

Someone (I think it was Clay) stated that there had been changes to the footpegs and was unsure if the yamaha ones would still cross over.

I was thinking the battery box would be a great place for a peanut butter sandwich.

If they are the same peg as the 2011 then the yamahas would fit. If its a new peg then i cant imagine they would use that same brittle stuff.

Good call! I snapped my power pegz the other month and have been considering buying a set of pivot pegz to replace but holding off as I don't want to fork out if they won't swap over when I get a new model. Currently back using the stock pegs again.

The best news is that with the in-board rear brake pedal there doesn't need to be the extreme cut-out at the inside edge at the rear of the right hand peg. My money is on Yamaha cross-over pegs to still bolt up ... but that may be wishful thinking.

Think the pipes are the same as '11? I would say so. I would like to fit a Hyde combo to the '12, but mod it to use the factory frame mounts. So, if the pipe is the same, and a normal skid plate for an '11 fits, I should be good. Guys who have 300s coming real soon please check and report, 250s will be later. Thanks!

Here are some mediocre cell phone pics of the bike from the Calgary show that Claude was talking about. Like he said, very early production model.

Wes.

We are air freighting a '12 Race kickstart next week. I plan to take it to a friend of mine who is a pro photographer and get him to take some real photos of it. We will post them on our website.
I am also told the first container of '12 300s will finally leave the factory on Friday.

12s

AWESOME. Please keep us advised on the timing of container getting here.

Thanks for the transparency Clay, it makes being part of the GasGas group that much cooler.

Good work Clay.
We can stop guessing and finally meet the real bike.
Look forward to seeing the shots.
Once again great work ,
Mark
