Nice to know that if i need to ride a dirt bike in the house, GG has done that testing for me.

I went ahead and "cleaned out" some of the older posts here.
It will keep you from having to read though 100s of threads to get to the original topic.

Why not somebody start a new 2012 thread on the 2012 bike? LOL it was hard to go back through the threads shearching for info I "thought" I read; thanks.

My buddy in Germany has just told me that the zoke/ohlins suspension is excellent the engine needs some jetting tweaks

I have the 48mm zoke fork and ohlins shock in my 144 and I love it. It is the first stock suspension which work well for me without modifications

Do we know definately what fits the bike in terms of bashplate, radiator guards, barkbusters etc?
Is scorpion the go or force, plastic or alloy?
Cheers Mark

Well, we heard that the factory plastic plates from the '11 Nambo are the same that will be on the '12, so I assume then that the mounts/cradle are the same. Rad guards should be the same too. There is no "definitely" until you do it! I'll be taking the gamble and collecting stuff for mine before it shows up.

Mark,

Has your dealer advised when you'll have yours landed? I was enquring about a EC250 and I think they said late feb. Also said most of the first shipment has been pre ordered so I'd have to let them know if I wanted one..

I still haven't and I'm still not sure. I have around 4000km on the Euro at present..

Yes Jake, He said mid Feb , so I assume I will have it by late Feb at the worst.
I am keen to get a decent bashplate and radiator guards before I wreck the bike too much. Not sure how good the original hand guards are either.

If I was you I would wait as your bike is not too old , although you will lose more money inn the chageover if you do wait.Maybe advertise it and if it sells get one from the next shipment???
Cheers Mark

Maybe maybe! I am still running the stock hand guards on mine. They hold up quite well, but are nothing more than roost guards and even then I've had rocks slip past and get a finger or two. I can also vouch that they do very little to protect against trees and blunt forces. One knuckle in particular has a story to tell. :p

Either way I'm going to take a hit in the pocket. Be it now or later. I've considered that into the cost of things. As silly as it sounds I'm considering selling the old yamaha for next to nothing and then keeping to gassers in the stable.. Maybe thats a plan that can wait another 12 months though..

I will have two gassers in the shed two mate. I ended up swapping my 07 for an 08 Raga replica 280 trials bike.:)

I like the way you roll mate!

Anyways enough thread hijacking! Someone else post some vids of 2012s in action!

We just had our bike show on the weekend. We had one 2012 Race Edition 300 for the show, #0002 off the line! It didn't show up with graphics or a front fender, GG note saying they will come later. Put a Nambo fender on for the show. I forgot to take pics, doh! I will try to remember the changes.. Frame is really changed! Footpegs are significantly higher than last year. Plus the area around the pegs and under the engine is way beefier with gussets and cross members, much better! Brake pedal is changed ( looks like you will still have to cut some of the adjuster to get the lever lower), kick start new, front shrouds are only push in rubber grommets on the top and bottom now, not sure I like that! Not sure if last years rad frames will fit! Seat is very thin and light! You can see where they found room for a larger tank as it reaches back more under the seat. The access to the air filter is going to be an issue for many as the battery box sits right on top of the air box hole. It is held on by 4 bolts and must be removed to take out the air filter. Also even if you have a kick start only model you must have the battery box installed as it has a slot built in for the seat to latch on. Also the clearance around the filter and box is very tight and could be hard to to tell if you have it sealed properly. I think this was not thought out well because of the original cassette filter had issues. Rear fender is separate from the side #plates. Same crappy footpegs:( Skid plate is the same small plastic one that goes just between the bottom rails. 48mm Marzocchi's look good! It says it is 2 kg (4.4lb) lighter. Renthal bars :) Nice grips! Magura clutch:) That is all I can remember for now.

I see some creative mods in my future. Can't ride a bike here without shroud bolts and expect the plastic to stay on. IMO, you don't need much clearance to seat the filter, I just compress the foam and press the cage around through it. The box sounds like a PIA though.

It's just that I like to feel around the filter after I install it to make sure it is sealed properly, and I don't think I could get my fingers around to do that on the 2012.
