*Sorry I posted this in the wrong section...ops not familiar with this forum yet.

I'll be a new GG owner shortly (in the coming week). I picked up a 2012 XC 300 Racing from my local dealer. He is prepping it and I'm getting a ton of add-on's. I'll probably go in and take some photos of it news and in stock trim. This bike will be plated here in Colorado.

List of things I'm getting with it:
Hyde Racing Skid Plate
Cycra Proend Bar's
BRP Hand Guard Mounts
Bullet Proof Billet Radiator Guard
TUBliss Front & Rear
JD Jet Kit
GG Frame Protectors
Rekluse Clutch Cover
Service Manual
*He will install everything FREE

All for less then MSRP is all I will say.

So far this owner knows how to satisfy a customer and I'm sure he will be in business a LONG time.

Oh a little about me, I was riding 3-4 times a week....LOL Had a daughter now I am a stay at home father but I still ride 1-2 times on the weekends. I been on a 2001 Honda XR650R and although awesome that I do single track with it...it's time to move to a real bike made for that environment. I'll be keeping the XR650R for now as a long distance rider.

I'm also on the Board of Directors for Rocky Mountain Adventure Riders. We are the only AMA sanctioned Adventure Group in North America. We raise money to keep our trails open around here and we hold events yearly. So I hope some of you come out and ride. Next event is Kokopelli trail from Fruita, CO to Moab, UT.

You will be seeing more and more of me....

This is the stuff I was riding on a heavy bike...LOL

Congrats and welcome. I think you are gonna love the GG for that type of riding. Look forward to your ride report.

You ride that big Honda pretty well. You should really enjoy the GG.
Thanks for buying a Gas Gas.

Nah I got it from XXXX in XXXX...he still has a 2011 XC 250 Racing that was his, he said about 15 hours on it and is asking I believe $4,700 so anyone interested.

Seems to be a great guy, so far I highly recommend him.

Oh and he called his contact and Clarke will have a larger tank after the 1st of the year. Not sure on specs yet, I'm looking for a Safari style tank that will hold a LOT of fuel. I do long distance out in the woods and I don't want to worry about fuel.

Xr650s are the most amazing bike, 60 hp and John Deere torque and a big bike and it can still do that, Honda got that thing right, and they mono for miles. Awesome!

Welcome , I too just joined the gasgas family. 2013 300xc and I am liking what I see. The information is top notch here too

Yep, I have around 40,000 miles of dirt on it...I bought it second hand in 2009 and the kid I got it from rode it like he stole it. It's been a great bike, but I have moved way past its real abilities for what I been riding more of.

Too bad Honda stopped making them. Maybe GasGas needs a Baja bike, copy the XR650R maybe bump it to 700cc, add electric starting, new technology to save weight, modern suspension and it be a winner for the Dual Sport crowd that wants to hit single track like me but yet needs to do 80mph down the Interstate sometimes.

Yeah I thought about 2013, but as the changes really were not there (nothing special) I decided the deal was really good. I guess you could say I'm a high profile rider so I'll probably bring in many customers to his showroom. I'm not out like most riding once a month, and with the events people will ask so very likely he will see more sales...I have had other sponsorship's too.

Is this forum run by GasGas? And is there a good marketing email address for me...maybe they like to do some swag for our events!!! I guess PM or email me mark@rmariders.org

Welcome aboard,Dude! I am an XR convert also(an'85 500) I loved that big heavy tractor. I know you will get along great with your new Gasser.

Um...well It seems my credit Union was assuming this was a motorcycle...so we might have a little bit of complications.

So I took the check to XXXX, got the MSO, Purchase order and invoice. I went to the DMV to ask about temp plates, lady at DMV said the MSO was not signed. I called up Timberline, as he is not a "dealer" he can not sign it.

Which got me thinking bank assumes its a motorcycle from a "dealer". I guess the word "dealer" has legal meaning to the State and Bank. So I took the MSO and dropped it off at the credit unions main branch, lady was not in (this was on the 19th)...have not heard back (she was suppose to be in the 20th). I have not heard back...

XXXX is being a good sport in this, one piece of paper from the bank says he gets a check for a TITLE (which is different then an MSO). So he is holding the check till we know they won't cancel it.

The person at the branch I was dealing with knew it was an MSO, knew I was concerned with the loan from the get go...I told her I be happy with the personnel loan and not the vehicle loan (higher interest was a moot point as it be paid off in a year or sooner). I was even shocked they did it as a vehicle loan at 3.9%. She checked with the underwriters and said they could covert an MSO to a Title. So who knows maybe the bank can, and skip a step of inspection to get the TITLE *shrug*

However this should not be an issue for future XXXX customers as he is int he process of becoming a dealer. Now if he was a dealer he would sign the MSO, write in his dealer number I would jot down my name and info and put who has the lean on the MSO and take it to the DMV for a TITLE and receive a plate after paying the fees that go along with that.

As of now, one takes the Bike to a State Trooper location they check for Mirror, Horn, Light, tail light, and Dot tires and you pay $20 for this. You then take THAT paper with the MSO to the DMV and get a TITLE along with your plate.

We both know the bike can be plated and thus have a title...but we don't know what the bank is going to say. This is really their mess up I would of been happy with the personnel loan...LOL Interest was like 6.9% so not a huge deal anyways.

I have a few back up plans one is telling the credit UNION to honor their mistake, and assure the shop the check...and then I can go take the bike to get inspected and thus have a title to hand over to the bank....if for some reason I can not get a title then the loan converts to a 6.9% personnel loan *shrug* Other plan to to drain savings and pay cash, I hate to do that but its an option.

Anyways so far so good, I would of thought I would of heard from the bank already as its clear the MSO is not signed if they were expecting it to be signed.....LOL Maybe they have a way to get it TITLED through their channels without that inspection. After all if he was a DEALER then there is also no inspection. He also is going to change what the MSO says...right now it has a website with OFFROAD as part of the name...DMV lady saw that and freaked and when I pointed out the .us she was like "I see that now".

Glad I'm working with a good guy, he is not sweating it...you don't get that often at a shop (soon to be dealer). It explains why the General manager of a huge dealership here said you just take the MSO, well because they have a dealer number.

Wait and see...

I'm not going to sweet it, Probably check after Christmas and see what XXXX wants to do. I say lets roll by the end of next week as that means the bank had plenty of time to notice the MSO.

I worry about more on his end that the bank cancels that check and causes issues that we then are running around to take care of this. I'm not going to stick it to the shop owner, that's not me. Plus I don't want run out of town...or bring a bad name to the organization that I am with.

I'm sure it will all work out and by Spring I'll never even think about the pain in the butt this was.

If you have a clear title on something of equal value. Car truck etc.... just put that up. How can he not be a dealer and selling new bikes??? In my state the 20$ of course would not work and should not in your state. 2 strokes over 49 cc have been outlawed for years. Yes I can get a plate for my new Gas Gas, however a smart state patrol would still ticket me and they would take my plate and take the title to.

Due to lurkers maybe I should not be talking about this...States have Loopholes (sorry for the edit but not worth getting into it if you don't know COLORADO law)

An update. The deal fell through but I'm getting a 2012 Gas Gas 300 E Start instead. Cost is $400 more then the other bike but that is not a huge deal, and I kind of wanted the E Start just for those times when your in a pickle and kicking is not an option. We have lots of rocks in CO and tight spaces between them I been in the odd spot stalled and kicking just plan sucks, so does rolling backwards loosing your progress if getting up the trail.

I'm still getting a huge amount of accessories, all are protection stuff mainly for the bike.

I hope to have pictures by next week.

Man, your deal with getting the loan and title sounds about like what I went through with my Credit Union, they screwed up big and almost got me stuck with a Off-Road only Title here in Fl. Luckily managed to go in and convince the DMV it was street legal and get a plate.
