Well I took delivery of all my parts. Last today
All ebay stuff 09 450f forks & triples 09 was good they had dual mounting positions for the handlebar clamps. The forks look mint, low use feel good.After I took delivery and saw how nice the forks were I contacted seller and arranged to buy his caliper and axles .I found a mint rim, rotor and almost new tire from another seller
So the whole thing came in at a hair under $500
I'm debating putting on for a little winter riding or sending them out beforehand
I'd kind of like to see how they feel first but riding conditions here are turning crappy fast-couple inches snow today.
Anybody happy out of the box with theirs ?
Any suggestions I'm #230-250lbs mostly slow b rider. I'm pretty sure these came with .47 springs
I've scouted the other posts but if anyone has any new insight
Any tips about these forks appreciated

I have the 125 forks. I weigh about 200lbs suited up.
I don't have any desire to change the valving or springs, as they work very well as is.
I did change the fork fluid to the SmartPerfomance fluid to smooth out the fork action.

I used the OEM GasGas handle bar mounts, the Yamaha ones were too high for me.

After i read your sss post i researched that smart fluid. Did you ride the bike before & after ? what was the difference. I've read he's(smart performance) also supposed to be a good tuner Have you used him or his fluid before?
Has anyone else on here used either or?

I ran mine (off an unused 08 250F) one race with the OEM settings, just to try it out. I'm slow, old and pretty heavy (~90kg naked), and these forks were way to stiff (too much compression damping) for my speed and abilities. I kept the stock springs (0.449 if memory serves me right), but did a RaceTech Gold Valve revalve and am very happy with them now. I use Ohlins 5W oil at the OEM level (330cc).

I would presume you are faster than me, but I also presume that the 450 setup is stiffer than the 250 setup. I guess you'll be better off with a revalved fork, but you have nothing to loose in trying them as they are before you send them off. That way you get a feeling on how close they are to what you need.
 
Stoby, great deal on the parts! Mine are 08 250f forks with .46 springs. These came from e-bay supposedly set up for woods with a 180lb rider from FTI. They were stiffer than any MX fork I'd ever felt, bad!. I took them to my local Pro Action shop to have him do them up with the woods setup valve bodies. I run mine clicked way soft and still don't use 100% of the fork travel very often. They resist bottoming very well. I'm a fairly fast woods recreational rider and don't think I would of liked them in stock form. My 2 cents. I weigh 190lbs.
 
Another handy tuning tool is the pressure spring. I mounted a set of WR450 forks on my 250 and was extremely happy after dropping the pressure spring rate and ditching the 0.47 mainsprings for 0.42s.

The SmartPerformance valving is very good - have not used his fluids.
 
I put a set of '07 YZ450 forks on my '06 EC300. Stock valving and springs as far as I can tell. I cleaned them out, put in new oil and new fork seals.

Since I weigh 200 lb and carry a lot of water and tools on my bike (added 15 lbs) I like the stock springs.

The forks are the most stable, compliant forks I have ridden. They absorb whoops and huge trail chop without any complaints or front end deflection. They rock!

Yep. Forgot to write in my post that I also replaced the pressure springs for softer ones. Selected the spring rate as described on the Racetech site.
