Stack Height/Spring Length

Ok, this is my first time evaluating the clutch system so i have a few maybe routine questions. I've done quite a bit of searching here and elsewhere but still need a little help.

My clutch did not squeal or growl, started easy in gear ( E or kick), and doesn't creep in neutral, but I've been chasing down problems related to this http://www.gasgasrider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=20330 post.

So far I have just removed and measured friction/steels and springs, and checked for warped steels. All the friction/steels measured within spec, but my stack height was different from this well known thread:

ok, i figured i'd put all the data in one place.
cr250r clutch pack conversion:

stock gg friction plates: 2.85mm (some are 2.9mm)
stock gg steel plates 1.5mm

use honda cr250r 1994-2007

cr250r friction plates 3mm
cr250r steel plates 1.5mm

cr250r plates, clutch stack height = 30mm
gg plates, clutch stack height = 28.95mm

I never saw it resolved in that thread. My 2011 300 (around 200hrs) stack (8f/7s) is measuring at 32.8mm vs. his stated ~29mm. I'm the 2nd owner so I don't know if mine has oem set up.

Second anomaly found was spring length. Mine measured 43.7mm vs spec at 44-45.7mm. They kinda look like they've been ground down.

Steels were shiny while frictions were dark brown, almost black.

Does the black color indicate heat/glazing and warrant replacement?

Lastly, checked for warping by stacking steeles and looking for gaps. No matter how I shuffled them there were always 2 different spots where a .076mm feeler would easily pass. Spec for warpage is .05mm. Is there a better way to test without a known perfectly flat surface?

Thanks for the help

I don't know if it's normal or not, but my clutch and waterpump cover both have a lot of wear spots.. I think it's from using cheap thin gaskets, and doesn't seem to get worse.
