Support Dakar Gasgas rider Tommy Verbakel

One, one single rider in the Dakar is riding a gasser. Even if we do not support him with cash, we should at least cheer him on, shouldn't we?
I was thinking if we just put together a mail with a list of ggriders that cheer him on, and an invite to the forum?

So, who wants to (morally) support the only gasser in the Dakar?

I'm in.

bergerhag, can you give a rundown of the rider.

EDIT:
Oops, found it under the thread about Dakar.

Hmm, it seems the famous gasgas mentality has a hard time reaching outside of North America? One man represents THE brand in the toughest rally in the world, and all I wanted us to do was just pop a 'hello' from the Gasgas community. I'm not asking any money. I don't know this fellow Tommy Verbakel. But he drives a Gasgas.

I am quite disappointed, and I would be ashamed to send an invitation to this great forum with only a list of five forum members to back it up.

Put me on the list if I makes you feel all warm and fuzzy. While a vote of support from some fellow enthusiats is nice I bet the guy will not lose any sleep over not having our support, or only a little bit of it.

You don't even give your post a day and you're disappointed?

Please keep in mind that some of us (like me) do not sit in front of a computer all day long to post on forums.

I will cheer on anybody that rides a Gas Gas. So here I am cheering for him!:D

If you post please give us a few days to read all of the new threads that are posted daily.

Best of luck with the dakar! Be safe! I'm sure he will have more people cheering him on as things progress. It's only early in the game.

Cool. Some of the world's best riders go to Dakar... And get killed... Makes the baja 1000 look like a "poker run"...

Has anyone e-mailed him to see if he speaks english and can join us here?

Here is the main site for the paris to dakar rally...

Well, this year the PD bikes are limited to 700cc and single cylinder in an effort to reduce death on bikes.

I'm sure we have all seen the video of Gio Sala pulling away from the helicopter filming him, and the chopper was doing 200km/h..... BIG BALLS stuff.

The PD is actually quite rideable for most people, just the long days, distances and costs that kills you (and your butt).

I was told that for most privateers a campaign start at Euro 100k
