Tapping Noise when riding? EC300R 2012

Hi
I have a tapping / ticking noise coming from bike when I ride it , it seems to speed up with revs but not so fast it's a buzz just maybe once a second .
It doesn't make noise when on stand but only whilst in gear and riding , I had new piston / rings done only 6 hrs ago by my Gasser dealer.
Any help appreciated.
BTW it's not chain slap for sure.

Chain/chain slap/chain guide..

Vibrations can come from the pipe/bashplate/plastics/rad braces at various rpm/over certain terrain.

Any scenarios where you notice it more or less?

No I just noticed it yesterday on roads inbetween trails as there was no wind at all and so I could here it clearly.

was goin to second the rad braces/shroud but on rereading that its a slow ticking almost has to be chain related.put on liftstand and spin the backwheel,you might find a tight chain link that hangs up a little,spin your rollers,and check the chain slider isn't loose or damaged.hooked sprocket teeth?try adjusting tension a little(either way) and note any change.does it disappear after lube?also check your fork guard on the disc side.theres very little clearance and can contact the bolt heads,or foliage can jam in there creating noises.still no luck?place plugs in ears and cross fingers!or hold wot so you cant notice!

This for sure.

I'm also leaning towards the chain for obvious reasons. I recently went from the OEM chain to a DID and replaced the rear guide. The combination of a new guide and a wider master link (clip) means that they make contact every revolution and I most definitely can hear this during transport sections.

Ok thanks for the advice , I'll look into chain guide as the first point as the bike had fallen off the stand the other night whist I had both wheels were off and I was removing tyres and I know the guide took a hit when it landed .

Sure sounds like the infamous chain slap on the swingarm slider to me.

Sounds like PV rattle to me. Mine drove me nuts until I adjusted the slack out of it.

If it comes from the engine, and its not at idle, 1+ on this. Or very worn out rings making squeek sound.
