The Nambotin Replica 2010 Thread

I skipped out of work for a couple hours this afternoon...it is a beautiful bike! Sounds pretty quiet with the Qstealth, in a good way too.

Ah , good for you.
Im going to pick mine up on Friday afternoon around 3 , when you going to take yours home ?

Don't know yet. Might leave it in the showroom for awhile. Whether it is in my garage or the showroom, it is going to drive me crazy.

Ok , its home
Picked it up today after work , will report after this week end how everything goes , but it will be breakin weekend , nothing hard

Take a couple photos of you with your new bike to document it before you thrash it this weekend. Would like to see them.

I'm picking mine up this afternoon. I asked for one in a crate so I can put it together over time. This way I will be close to home for when the baby comes and still be able to tinker/get to know the bike.

I'll take pictures too!

Ok , did the second warm up today after work , and this was my first time on the bike as Dave Fair did the first one before i picked it up to make sure it ran ok.
I must say this bike runs quite good right outa the box, my 09 did not , in fact it was a pig to get to run decently, but once we did it was good. I only see some minor jetting once the motor has some hours on it and its nicely broken in.
But right now , stock , its quite rideable . I don't know what it is and maybe its just me , but the bike FEELS quite a bit lighter , tho im sure its not . But it just feels like i can flick it around with less effort and the front feels planted but not heavy. I don't know if its just me all in love with a new bike , but it feels lighter.
The Q stealth is very quiet , a lot like the Euro Banana exhaust we get on the 300's here in Canada , but it still allows the motor to breath.
Oh , and one more thing , Its # 96 of the 200

More later tomorrow with some pics

Congrats.
I'm sure Dave reminded you, but make sure you remove powervalve vent plug before you kick her over for the first time.
Can't wait for assembled pictures.

Yes, Dave & Andrew gave me a bunch of pointers. Thanks for the heads up though.

Not to sure I will get used to the straight bars:D

I'm still awaiting the arrival of my Nambotin. so help me pass the time by sharing what mods you fellas have planned for yours.

Heres a pic from today at a little lake behind my place

The bike runs amazing , i dont anticipate any changes to the stock jetting. Man they got this bike razor sharp , and as the day went on it just got faster . A few more rides and then i can really start to honk on it , but it is very snappy right now. I did change the front from a 13 tooth to a 12 , but as far as mods , i dont see myself doing any , just guards and an Ohlins damper and getting the suspension dialed in , but even that was working good today . This bike blows away my 09 EC300 which ran very good , so i thought , but this bike is just amazing. there was one hill i went up today that i always go up in second gear , well i did today and now i think third would easily pull up it , second was too torquey and the front wheel just kept coming up on me so i had to back out of the throttle a little then roll back on and again it would start to lift. This has never happened on this hill before to me , it was always just a line it up in second and go for it type of hill , but the Namby was laughing at it. The throttle response is very clean and no bog when going WOT from low rpms , it just runs smooth and then kicks your ass down the road. not hard hit just linear power , but if your in the right rpm and range and pin it , hang on , it will explode
Sum it all up, absolutely the best bike i have ever ridden , by any brand and it was money , well spent and worth the wait.
And did i mention the thing is really quiet , and i mean quiet
I think they must have made a conscious effort to make this bike run well as it is the Top model they will offer this year , ill bet it has something to do with the S3 Stars cylinder head and i wish i knew which of the three inserts it has in right now , but either way , i was grinning all day long today .
My only recommendation would be to get Velcro Gloves and Velcro Grips and hang on , its a Race bike for sure , too bad an old fat guy like me got it , it will never get used to its potential , but it will make me happy :)

Hmm , still cant get the pics to come up automatically , someones gonna have to teach me that trick

To post a pic, just right click on the pic and go to properties. Copy the URL. Then when making your post on here, click on the little pic with the mountain and sun from the tool bar in the reply box. When the script box pops up, paste the URL in the blank and hit save. Then finish your post if you have more to say and submit reply. Done like dinner. Keep in mind that most web sites require you to have your picture host some where other than in your computer. For example photobucket .com or smugmug.com Altough I see we must be able to post pics to the gallery on this site and link from there. Cool.

Yeah, my pic is hosted here , and i did everything you said , but still its only coming up as a link ?

Down loaded your picture Steve. Just to see if I could post it for ya... I down loaded it to Photobucket copied the IMG code and copied that to the little picture frame on my post.
First I got rid of the 'http' and also cut the extra at the beginning and end before posting. If that makes any sense to ya. First I tried it just by copying your picture but it came out way to big. Photobucket down sized it for me.

What elevations and temperatures have you been running in with the stock jetting? I hope mine runs just as well on the prairies. Does the bike come with much info about the cylinder head?
