The real weight of GasGas300EC

They must have taken the foam out of the seat to get to that claimed weight!

You need someone to completely drain a stock bike and take a measurement. As soon as accessories are added the weight goes up (skid plate, rad guards, bark busters, LED lights, license plate, switchgear, heated grips, bigger fuel tank, steering damper, etc).

An approx weight can be taken using bathroom scales under a liftstand or bathroom scales under front wheel (stand bike up)then rear wheel.add both weights but dont let the wife see!
My 13 200 was 109 with no fuel,everything else included-trans oil,coolant,pipe guard,rad braces,lightkit,bash plate etc.
So the weight that matters is 109-118 depending on fuel level for mine.

My 2011 EC250R with skid plate, rad braces (no bark busters) weighed 238 pounds using the two-wheels-on-a-scale method. Just a smidge of gas.

Edit to add: Bib Mousse front and rear.

I weighed a neighbor's factory race Kawi 250 4T and was just about the same.

I weighed my 2010 EC300 Nambo using 2 brand new identical bathroom scales when it was dry with no fuel, no gearbox oil, and no coolant. It weighed 52.5kg or 115.5lbs at the front wheel and 57.5kg or 126.5lbs at the back wheel for a total of 110kg or 242lbs. It did include hand guards, radiator guards, and a few other bits. After doing a bit of research on the weights of those bits and pieces I estimated that they weighed 3kg or 6.6lbs. From what I can work out I reckon that it weighs 107kg or 235.4lbs. So an extra 5kg on top of what they say although they probably weigh it without any fork or shock oil. Maybe they even leave the tyres off when they weigh them?

Dry weight is usually without fluids (tires included). If the tires are the FIM enduro legal tires - they are sometimes much heavier than an alternative tire available.

Curb weight (sometimes spelled kerb weight in eu) is a more useful number - this is weight with all fluids including fuel.

Tubes can add a couple of pounds to the weight. I use very light michelin airstop tubes with pro honda sealant. Michelin airstop used to be what was used oem. My primary reason for using sealant/stop leak is to lubricate the inside of the tube - this prevents pinch flats - the inside of the tube can slide past itself when it becomes completely compressed (pinched).

Bathroom scales are typically *very* inaccurate...

Ec300 '07 weights 116kg
all fluids, no fuel
oversized tank
hand, rad guards
homemade aluminium pipe guard
1-2kg tools under seat
gpr damper with bar raisers
650g fww

Point taken on the bathroom scales but it gives a ballpark, anyone with a wife will have one handy, and it is relative if the same scale is used for different bikes.
That said im more interested in how light, nimble the bike feels to ride.by that measure im more than happy!

Thanks for your feedback guys. I just weight the battery 5lbs. I wondering how weight the electric starter. Any idea?

I stripped off all electric starter gear on my '14 300 - starter motor, bendix, ring gear, battery, start switch, wiring, left hand powervalve cover with standoffs. All in all it totaled just over 8 lbs (that was with a Shorai lithium battery).

weighed my "15 ec 300" on cattle scales half tank of gas, lithium batt, lights and switch removed.
Came in at 117kgs:eek: Weighed when covered in mud 127kgs.
