Uprated Footpegs?

Who sells a really good uprated foot peg for the 2010 GG? I am looking for a strong peg that wont break the bank. All ideas appreciated, the stock ones are butter!

My first thought was IMS as well - if you have big feet - they make a "low boy" peg - lower and back slightly from stock position to give you a little more room to the controls.

IMS makes a "pro series" and a "super stock" - I would recommend the pro series - they provide much better grip.

If you want to buy some bling - you can pick up some titanium YZ pegs on e-bay for not too much $$. It saves weight - but it is down low where you won't feel it - not a big bang for the buck.

i have super stock ims pegs - they are nice, but grinding them for better grip is a big plus. also you need to grind them for kicker clearance.

If you like a really wide peg the 09 YZ450F stock pegs are nice and the price isn't too bad either. These pegs will also set a little lower than the stock pegs.

Fastway Pegs

I have a set of fastway pegs that work great. The bad news is they are so large that the brake petal prevents the right one from folding. You have to grind and cut the back corner away and the tig a new section into the peg. The pegs are stainless so you have to tig. Its alot of of fabricating plus they are expensive

Pivot Pegz have released a v3 peg that is 60mm wide. It is huge, but as it rotates you can still change gears and use your brake easily.

Mod?

Did you have to modify the yz pegs at all?

I have the moose hybrid pegs on mine with the rear offset....the outer teeth were way to aggressive so I ground them down...they feel nice now

the brake pedal side is a bone of contention...you cant grind it enough...I will have to add some material there...MIG or drill a hole and add a cap screw

otherwise they are well made(maybe too well made..the stockers folded up like candy in a crash and saved the frame..keep that in mind)

not the best pic but...

I have also just added the hybrids after bending one of my pegs. i did not get the off set ones and think i need to raise my gear lever. I also found the outside teeth too extreme for off-road riding (may be ok for mx where you not putting your feet down) - they made my brand new sg12's look v second hand!- I have ground down the outside teeth (not as much as you have though) but need to g for a test ride to see if i need to grind more down and also filed out a groove on the brake side so that it can fold back more, but it still hits the brake pedal, don't think i can grind much more off.

Please explain what you mean by "MIG or drill a hole and add a cap screw"

You can grind all day long and the integrity of the peg will be gone by the time you is done.....the trick is to add some material to the contact stub on the peg.....I will do it this weekend....a blob of weld will work...but a small drilled hole 6mm..you can tap it and thread in a short 6mm bolt

Matt did you crash on the right side ??? Curious

Ok yes see what you mean now. but still think a bit of grinding is required for my riding (often squeezing between rocks so FP need to be able to fold back) just need to know when to stop grinding!

i would hardly call it a crash, went down a slick rock and lost the front end, bike flipped over and slid down on the right and bent the right foot peg in the process.

Also gave the P3 pipe guard a serious test and all that happened is the p3 now looks old and the pipe has been pushed over to the left.

I think i will get one of those powerbalance bracelets to improve the equilibrium of the bike to stop it landing on the right ;-)

FYI-I ended up buying the new Talon YZ/WR Pegs, they bolt straight on and are a fantastic piece of kit.

Please put up some pictures from directly above, directly in front and directly to the side. I'd like to see how level they sit.
