Want to install E-Start or Rekluse, EC250

Having trouble dealing with stalling at the top of hills and getting restarted. Seems to stall a lot when clutching over obstacles. Looking for an easy fix.

Asking for a friend. :D

How you doing, Bill? Getting some much needed rest?

Estart will probably solve most of your stalling issues. I started with e start on my 2011, then added a rekluse which i love but also have some issues with it as well. E start is worth the money and weight penalty

I've trained many new riders over the years. I have a new rule that they now need a rekluse. It helps them so much on hills and they can concentrate on other things besides clutch control. I am selfish, I do not have to ride so many bikes up hills:)

If the problem that your stalling then a rekluse would help that. An estart will only help you when it does stall. I think you want to keep it from stalling? I have the rekluse for the stalling issues I am adding an estart only to add a few creature comforts as I'm getting older and my joints are wrecked from my youthful adventures.

I rolled out @ 7am, to help a friend cube a 26' van with all his "worldly" possessions:D Shoulders & legs sore. It couldn't have anything to do with a certain tree, at the top of a certain climb:rolleyes:

Excuses.

Oh, the bike that needs the E-Start is a 2003 EC250. You're welcome! :D (ducks and hides)

Hope to see you Saturday.

I've found folks with persistent stalling issues are best served with training wheels. At least that's what I tell my riding buddy. :D

Bike setup and practice the proper technique. Improve your skills and resist the temptation to throw $$ at problem.

Funny I'm just the opposite. My 250 came with e-start and it does spoil you but I added the Recluse and it was night and day difference for me. After installing the auto clutch I found that I left my bike running at short stops and only had to restart it about 1/3 as many times as before. When my stock battery got low I quit using the e-start and never missed it. I took my battery out to save weight and told a friend I'd sell him the e-start if he wants it. As far as Recluse issues it was easy to install and has worked flawlessly for over a year and has never been readjusted period.

I see a new bike, in your future, with E-start & Rekluse:D

Only if I am buying it from you. I seem to remember only one person on an EC250 yesterday, and I think that it kept stalling. In the middle of hills. Regardless of tree locations. But it was easy to find the rider because of the bright pants with reflective stripes...

And for the record, I need to get a vacuum operated fuel valve. Not that I'm getting old and forgetful but that I seem to have trouble doing things with.. Wait, where was I going with that? Sheesh. Me and my memory.

As to the other posters, I'm poking fun at Bill. His bike would stall in the middle of a hill and he couldn't get footing to easily kick it. We had our moments yesterday, all in good fun. Sorry, GREAT fun.

Forget the E-start and either change ignition or add a flywheel weight. Prper riding tech and bike setup will correct your problems, if your stalling a 250 enduro bike there are other problems. My joints are SHOT at 47 from jumping out of airplanes roofing and building log homes! If my new 12 Gas Gas were any heavier (ES) I would not have bought it!! Stalling a moto bike sure but get with a good dealer and get proper setup. I WOULD NEVER run a rekluse or e start!! Buy hand squezzers and do 5 sets of 100 (build yourself up to it) It will help with your stamina. Take the E-start money and buy a treadmill. It will extend your life anyways................

Buy or do whatever you choose to do. It is your bike and you ride it more than anyone(i'd hope). Buy a rekluse or an e-start or both. They are both great choices. And in some form or another in the future you will appreciate either one of them.

One thing that turned the tide for me in buying a rekluse was the fact that they are awesome and also that, I will never be a pro rider/racer. I love getting on my bike and riding it. If I were younger and wanting to go pro or had something to prove, well I would stick with a manual clutch and learn better control.

Remeber it's YOUR choice, who cares what Joe smoe has or doesn't have on his bike.

Well...Given the fact that my limited skills on a dirtbike are improving with every ride, the E-start & Rekluse are mostly dreamy thoughts. Besides, If I took to heart the opinions I hear most every weekend, I'd be riding a KTM 4-stroke. It would be equipped with LHRB, Rekluse, E-start, yada, yada, yada. Besides, I weigh every opinion(they all have validity...mostly) and use what I think is valuable to me. In the end I have only me to blame or praise(concerning my riding).

Good point if you think those items will help, I guess why not. But really I guess before buying those items I would try to do other things. Sometimes even lowering the gearing helps! My buddy runs a 52 tooth on his 200, he is a bit heavy 235 for a 200 but seems to work pretty good with that gearing. Yes thank god your not a pumpkin head and on a gasser! Talk to a good dealer and see what they reccomend! Good luck,
