What did you do to your Gas Gas today?

After riding today with the kyb in the original clamp, I would never go back to the yz triple clamps. The bike feels much more stable and it feels in a way it should be. Hard to explain, but I like the original more.

So, stock triples bored to accept the KYB forks feels better than KYB forks in YZ triple?

What year/model forks did you use? Which front wheel and brakes? Just curious, not that I could afford to even change fork seals right now, let alone entire front end.

I use an 2009 yz250 fork, with the gasgas front wheel, axis and break. I just bought a caliper adapter for 260mm for the kyb fork.
And yes, the original triple clamp with the kyb fork feels better than the yz clamp with the same fork.

Revalved to suit?

Yep had both the front and rear revalved and heavier springs put in. I used the bike mostly for MX and some harescrambes, so I might have heavier springs then most would use. Very curious to see what the difference will be.

Pulled out my clutch plates. And what do you know, more money I have to shell out. The clutch was stuck I had read here that it could be stuck from sitting. I'm looking for a new clutch basket and clutch pack. Is there anyone that has bought a reasonably priced set I dont think I want to spend $900 for a Rekluse?

I wouldn't worry about that basket too much, take a file and smooth out those groves and put a new clutch kit in. You should be good to go.

Vent Cap

Had an extra 5 minutes...stuck a red vent cap on the 2015 as I walked by it :)

Today I rebuilt the WP43s on my 01 EC300sm with new seals, bushes and 7.5w oil. Also shortened them 24mm. Will out tomorrow to test them out!

Put a 38 sprocket on had to chop a bit of the chain guide, also fitted some hand guards I've had sitting around for a while

Cut an inch off my bars and put on new grips. Installed my new number plate graphics by Bike Graphix. Also spent a couple hours cleaning all the nooks and crannies.

Put the Unabiker radiator guards on.

The guy that owns Unabiker is a great guy. He is putting on an event for Autistic kids here in Indiana next month. They are going to put kids on dirt bikes , atvs, and sxs! Not really relevant to the thread but thought I would share.

I fixed my gas cap again, think it will stay fixed this time.
Previously i fixed the leaking by making a seal from a 1mm sheet of viton rubber, but the housing holding the balbearing kept shrinking and fell into the tank. the seal i previously made prevented fuel leaking onto my privates, but would leak out the overflow every time i dropped the bike.
this fix is also from the 1mm viton rubber but cut a bit larger on the OD and smaller on the ID to hold the cone in place

I added a damper. I found this Scotts unit locally used. Brought it home and cleaned it up, changed the oil. I had to order a post from Scotts. I made a temp sub mount to use until I got a permanent one fabbed up. I drew up a new mount, then printed a plastic one to test fitment. It looks pretty good so a friend of mine is going to mill one for me on his CNC.

Here's the damper installed.
