Wudi 17 Ride/March 5-8, 2015

Although the Wudi Ride is located in the "Central" US, I did not put this notice in the Regional Forum. At past Wudi Rides we have had riders from Washington State, Florida, New England, California, Canada, and many points in between travel to Arkansas and join the fun. I put the announcement here because I wanted to make sure that everyone on this forum gets the invitation.

The 2015 Warm Wudi Fun Ride is an unorganized non-event. This ride is strictly for FUN.
The dates have been set for the 2015 Wudi Ride; March 5 through March 8.
This is the 17th year of the Wudi Ride.
Originally, it was started to give "cold country" dirt bikers a chance to escape the snow and come down to Arkansas to get in a late winter dose of single track and roosting.
Thanks to the RazorBack Riders club, the Wudi Ride is still going strong.

Everyone who wants to join us for the fun is welcome.

The location is the northwest corner of Arkansas, in the Ozark Mountains. It is 35 miles southeast of Fayetteville. Part of the trails used will be the Mill Creek Trail, and the rest of the singletrack trails will be part of the annual White Rock Mountain Enduro.

There will be trail ride guides and dual sport ride guides, and you and some friends can take off on a trail ride on your own.
The only fee is a single $25 gate fee, which includes use of the campground and the porta-potties.

I'm looking forward to getting back up in your area, and seeing you Fred. It's going to be fun riding with you.

@Jim.
Robby sold his bike and got rid of all his dirt bike stuff. He's into fishing and hunting now.

Damn! He was a good rider, and a hoot to be around. Maybe he'll get bored with that and start riding again before I fall apart from age.
That, or I could threaten to go fishing with him. :)

How about slow riders. Are we welcome? Jajajajajajajajajaja
This looks awesome.

Slow riders are very welcome. There will be guides for all levels of riders.
If slow riders were not welcome, I couldn't be able to go. :)

There are youtube videos of rides done at Mill Creek Trail and/or White Rock Mountain Trails. If one does a search.

I found this video taken five years ago, which was before the club built a bridge across the creek at the Razorback Riders campground. This is the campground that will host the Wudi 17 Ride, before the bridge was built across the creek.
These riders cross the creek and ride the two track trails up the mountain.

I prefer the single track way up the mountain. That's the trail we took in this video from the Wudi 15 ride, I was trying out my 520 EXC dual sport bike, with too tall gearing on the trails for the first time, with Spodely results. (It was steep.) :)

Here is some single track footage from last year's Wudi Ride at White Rock. It's more aggressive than my short vid. :) Tom posted at least four videos on last year's Wudi.

Here my friend Dave's video from last year. He's on a 2004 EC300 and he's following my friend Reggie, who is also on a Gasser. The video was recorded during a non-guided ride they took with my ADR club members Tom Steele, Bobby Diffee, and Kent Bradford.
Reggie and Dave will be back this year.
Water bars can be a lot of fun.
That's my friend Tom Steele who falls off and rolls across the water hole at the 4:45 mark. The video ends at the "Lookout" on the side of the north loop.

Note: Most of the mud holes there have a hard bottom, especially when they are in the trail.

Some more views from other sources below:

Here's someone's backwards view of some of the two track up on the mountain. from a couple of years ago.

These fellows stuck mostly to the wider trails, but they show some hills and rocks, and waterfalls.

These fellows were mosyly on the wider atc trails, not the single track, as the name of the vid implies, but they were having fun. The single track sstarts at the 4:41 mark.

And...

Just for the heck of it, here is a video someone from a past Wudi Ride at Brock Creek, filmed on some of the easier single track trails there.

Good Riding and Viewing!

Is that Jeb from KTMTALK ?

I am seriously considering this. Only drawback is it would just be me making the 9.5 hour drive

Yup I'd go if I could find somebody around central Indiana to go. Looks like it would a great ride considering the good weather guarantee.

I am in Indiana about 10 min. North of Louisville KY. Been thinking of making the trip but haven't been able to find someone to go either
