2011 Race model or Cervantes

Absolutely the new 48mm Zokes on the 12 models. A TTX shock is going to put us over $9000 so we won't do that. The shock and fork will have the same springs this year as in the rest of the world. It may turn out to be too light for us. If so, we'll change that next year. It's hard to get everything we want in one year.

Keep in mind that the Mexican colors looked good on the Gas Gas. They looked horrible on the KTM IMHO. It's just a matter of time before the Six Days is in a country that has colrs that look bad on our bike and then we won't be able to sell them.

The Replica bikes are supposed to ship next week. Yes they are coming.

Great to hear the 2012 models will all get the new 48's :D

I was just suggesting adding the TTX to the Race models. This bike essentially would be up against the KTM XC model I presume. KTM has kind of raised the bar for 2012 with their XC which now sports new frame with linkage, 6 speed gearbox, CC forks and a stock 3 gallon tank. With the new CC Zokes and a TTX buyers might be more easily swayed to go GG.

.....and speaking of gas tanks did you happen to talk to the factory about a bigger tank for the bikes???

Skidad, I had a long discussion about suspension with some old-time KTMers looking to retire their 2010s and buy new in 2012. They were not pleased with KTM going with closed cartridge forks as they say the open cartridges are much plusher over our rocks.

KTM XC's have had the CC forks for a few years now and the "W" models have and still do retain the OC forks FWIW. Correctly valved/sprung a CC fork works better over a wider variety of terrain (kind of like linkage vs PDS ;)) and at a more consistent level. The blue KTM's (Husaberg 2 strokes) come with the CC forks which are valved correctly for off road and they get very good reviews. We will get to see this fall as these bikes will be coming here also.

From what I have read here on this site the new Marzocchi 48mm CC forks are different inside and how they work vs a WP CC fork for instance. We will have to wait and see but the reports trickling in seem to indicate a really good working fork. Tell you buddies to buy a 2012 GG :D

Hold on Skidad....we have some 2011's to sell too. Some have the 45mm Zoke fork which seems to work well in rocks (from what I am told). We also have 2011 Race models with the 48mm Zokes. So don't wait until 12 to buy! Plus the 11s will be cheaper!

Sorry, me bad:o

He did mention his buddies were looking to buy 2012 models but your're correct about the 45's and the 2011 Race should be sweet with the new 48's.

Are the 2011 Race models available for sale in the USA yet?

The 300 Race models hit the warehouse yesterday and will be shipped to dealers next Tuesday (July 5th). The 250 Race models are in transit from Spain now along with the Cervantes and Nambotin models. Remember that the Race models come with a spares kit: extra top end, extra air filter, 50 t Supersprox sprocket, spare clutch and brake lever and extra brake pads. They also have Twinwalls, Galfer rotors, an aluminium skid plate and rad braces. Of course....the new 48mm Zoke fork.
