2013 Pics

Winding the boost up on the car will only be short lived , within a few weeks you will be looking for more:D . Been there done that
Best put your cash into a 14

I know Diggs! Thats why its been kept stock as long as it has. Not looking to set any HP records. I just dropped a few hungey on parts to pretty the old WR up. I'd have to sell one of my loves purely cause I can't justify another bike in the shed. Awhh.. Maybe one more..

GG AU. EC200R for 2013?? Make it happen SOLO! :D

Ok guys, I need some help here. I have been drinking the Orange Koolaide for a long time. Now everyone has found out how good it can be. I am looking at making the move to Gas Gas. But I need some questions answered before I make the jump. 1st, is the Gas Gas 15 to 20lbs heavier than the specs say? 2nd, which bike(300 or 250) will be the easiest to ride
in the tight woods? 3rd, why pay the same or more for a Gas Gas as compared to a KTM.
I looked at the National Enduro results and this is what I found, 202 riders, 136 on KTM's, 30 on Yamaha's, only 4 on a Gas Gas, Why aren't there more?
I agree the Gas Gas is much more sexier, But if she doesn't perform as well that only goes as far as the work stand. I am not trying to belittle the Gas Gas, I need to know why I should get one over the other brands!

Where are you and what do you ride now? Why should you buy a GG? Well, the majority of us feel the bike handles and steers better, and for sure the new bike is more stable. KTMs are not inherently stable, they made them twitchy in an attempt to get them to steer. Motor is smooth, and the bike is tough, thats why its a few lbs more than the KTM but not 20. Feels lighter riding it. Ride one.

One ride is all it will take to answer all your questions. IMO the gasser is the better chasis. Handles better, turns better, feels better. Thats just my opinion though. They are a heavier bike, but they are also sturdy and reliable. They carry the weight low and they don't feel like much more than a downhill bike when you're carving them effortlessly between the trees. Both brands make a good engine. Its a 2T as tunable as you want.

I've had both a Husky and Husberg 2T owners comment on how well my 2010 model steers and tracks, and how strong the engine is. Granted I have spent some time setting it up for me, but both these riders were comparing their 300's to my 250 and both were bigger and heavier riders than me so bike was well undersprung for them... and its only a 2010. All reports are saying the 2012 model blows away the 2010/2011 models. 2013 offers an even more refined product.

Go ride one, especially a 2012, and then you'll understand, it's that simple.........
Even if they are a bit porky, you sure don't notice it on the trail. My 250 flicks like a 125.

south west PA. just sold my KTM 200xc, Husaberg FE390(dual sport bike)
Buying Gas Gas for HS and Enduro riding. 250 or 300?

250 vs 300? One of the biggest debates here for years like on KTM talk too I'm sure. Probably more 300s out there, many like the added torque that allows less important gear selection. Good if your a lugging type rider. The 250 lugs well too, but is easier to ride on and off the pipe, for me easier to ride as it doesn't pull as hard off idle. Same as KTMs. Comming off a 200, if you like that, I'd say 250. Do a search, there is even a poll, no sense turning this thread into another debate.

Do you ride ECEA?

Can't answer that one, but the more you build the cheaper you can buy components and the cheaper you sell. Do you really need/want estart? With GG you have a choice, not with the KTM.

my other ? GG 300ES $8599, KTM 300 xc with ES $8299

Other than just the difference in cost due to volume, the GasGas also comes with a skidplate, headlight and tail light, and FMF Q silencer. Things the KTM doesnt come with. Really considering the price of these new bikes a $300 difference isnt a very big difference and depending on the deal you work out with the dealer you might be able to get the GG for the same as the KTM.

Factor in a set of tubes on the ktm as they fit condoms at the factory to keep the wieght down:D

The forks alone on the new GG's are worth far more than the $300 price differential. Add to that the other stuff noted here & you have a real bargain.

I agree. Don't get caught up on $300. If it was a couple grand it would start to sway the decision more. As everyone else has said, the Gasser comes equiped ready to ride. A more appropriate comparison would be to compare the EC to the KTM SixDays model, as what the importer has done is basically order one model that offers the top of the range components.

Few current threads on 250 vs 300. I think GMP summed it up nicely a few posts back.

The 250 and the 300 have essentially the same top end power, but the 250 is much easier to control in the rooky and rooty tight woods where traction is not as plentiful.
I personally think that the 300 is better for a lazy rider and the 250 is a better race bike.

I Love the ignition switch. In tight gnarly trail, I normally ride in the MX (sunny) setting, unless the terrain is really steep and I'm not being aggressive with the throttle. In the open, I always ride in the MX setting, because it carries the front end better with the higher and longer rev potential.
But... when I screw up and lose all my momentum on a climb, 1/2 second later the thumb hits the switch to "rainy".

Robby,
When you get the new bike, are you going to bring it over so I can ride it? Please!

Good Riding!
Jim
