gasgas/ossa

This is the answer from the factory when I asked about this:

Regarding Gas Gas and Ossa, the press has made it bigger than what it is? there?s no fusion, just an agreement between two brands in order to unify efforts and cooperate.
The cycle industry is suffering, and all this kind of agreements are just to keep the market going on.

That sounds good to me

The bank/investment firm sees a way to use more of the GG factory that they paid for, rather than building a new Ossa factory. Leveraging component purchasing with higher volume can't hurt either, more clout for shorter lead times and lower cost. Not a bad idea. Look what Suzuki and Kawasaki did a few years back to break into the 250F market faster and cheaper, and where that ended up.

Makes sense to me. Thanks for clearing it up Clay. I was thinking we were going to get the FI 280 Ossa engine in our GG :D .

Just remember that if this info proves incorrect, I didn't tell the lie...just passed on the one I was told! ;)

I can pretty much second what Clay was told but from the other side of the table. When I asked Ossa about this while over visiting them, they told me there was regional government money available if 2 or more companies would colaborate on developing a 4-stroke engine together. GG & Ossa decided to go for it and claim the cash..... or something to that affect.......

The govt. banks in Europe have been subsidizing and bailing out their industries for years. Look at Husky/Cagiva history.

You tend to be more carefull when you spend your own money. I respect them a lot for that. I'm a big Toyota fan, 2nd Tundra and really like it, but the F150 was a close 2nd choice.
