Are you sure the 10th digit is a G and not a 6?
Are you willing to post a picture of it?

The VIN will be a G, and it'll be an 06 model

Euro standards allow the 10th digit to be either/any letter or number for a given row.
IE my 2010 VIN showed as an L, when you'd expect it to be an A.
The cylinder is the S3 replacement. It is better than the OEM cylinder.
Thanks to all those people who have replied to this thread.
I took the bike down to the government vehicle inspector here is NSW.
and the VIN numbers on the frame were scraped with a razorblade to remove the paint. The VIN was not what it looked originally, and appears not to have been altered.
Using the official government register- revealed the VIN numbers as neither stolen or written off status??
So now I am left with a ???? model bike when I paid for a 2011.
I have a receipt with 2011 clearly on it , so I will seek some legal advice.
Does anyone have access to a way to decode the VIN accurately?
My attempts show the bike as a 2106.
VIN VTREC3000G0160843
Ideally I need the year and month.
What a mess I have created for myself.......
anyone want to give this VIN# a go. I believe it is an 2012 250 Guillaume Replica but not 100% sure.
VTRCG2530N0420(leaving out last 3 numbers)
The CG253 should indicate the model, so I would guess that the G would mean Guillaume and the 253 refers to the capacity. The 04 part should indicate that it was built in April and the 2 following it should indicate 2012. So it appears to be a 2012 built 250 at the very least. A standard bike would normally have a VIN starting VTREC250 or VTREC300 so the CG instead of the EC would seem to indicate that it is a special model.
