I guess I'll wait until I see one perform before passing judgement. I'm not that excited about another 250f but the sidevalve fourstroke that GasGas was working on awhile back would get my attention. Just my two cents. Jim

The sidevalve has been all but killed. The trials guys dont want 4Ts and the guy who designed the engine has gone to work for MV Agusta.

Look at the funky carb on it. Back in 06 GG made a 200 "Hobby" which was basically a parts bin bike made up of crappy parts. This looks like a newer version of it.

The only way I could see that bike being successful is if it has a 32" seat height and is priced under $5000.

Looks like some bargain basement entry level ride. A perfect way to tarnish the Gas Gas name. What are they thinking?

Assuming the motor is reliable it looks like a nice step up from a crf 230. If it is priced about the same. Not a fan of the made in China motor though.

This is a bike that an importer in South America asked GG to build. They can sell a lot of them down there at this price. It isn't meant to be a "performance" unit but an economical dual sport.

That makes sense to me, maybe if they had named them 'Fast' and not used the GasGas name would've been better. I just hope the 'pumpkin' guys don't get a hold of these pictures, they'll not 'spin' it in a good way. As long as my 2T stays pure I'm good with it. :D

They'd be ok if they can compete with the ttr230 in the reliabilty stakes.Time will tell.

Down on the farm those ttr's are bullet proof.Better than the crf even.IME.

I don't really know why anyone would care about this. The engine is made in China but everything else is made in Spain. It isn't coming to to the US. It's not made in India and Gas Gas in not almost half owned by an Indian company.
Kawasaki's number one selling unit of all time was the KE100 but this did not mean that Kawasaki could not build performance motorcycles.
The Orange Bleeders will always find fault with anything that threatens their belief that the orange bike is the best. It's good but it isn't the best! :D

I would rather ride a GG with a Chinese motor than a HONDA CRF230 that was completely produced in Brazil. Now there is a country known for fine craftmanship. :)

Your right Clay, I just have this thing about supporting China. Aren't some of the old '70s vintage bikes like the KE being mfg. in Brasil?

I think they would do well to have some well built entry level bikes. A model can typically be produced for many years in that category and it would not take much to build a better 200cc play bike than the big 4 performance wise. I could see a bike like this in my garage for the wife or kids.

I thought maybe it was a Dellorto carb. I also couldn't understand going to a cable for the clutch. Guess I won't lose much sleep over it. Jim

There are Harley Davidson (and BMW) made in Brasil too....:)
