Ranting and raving..

Sorry my man, that is far from the trend. Our Trask 2 day qualifier has evolved into a sprint enduro in West Virginia.I still would like to see one member video of a Gas Gas rider on a seek and destroy mission in some truly nasty terrain against all comers.Show me the money.

I'm still not sure what you are getting at.. at all..

Truly nasty terrain is dependant on the persons definition of what is truly nasty to them (and their experience). Its also hard to capture on video.

Then you want seek and destroy, which is clearly related to skillset of the particular rider. I could post a video from liv2day and you could probably bag it, I could post one from myself and you could bag it. You could post one yourself, and we could bag it. But it doesn't seek to prove or achieve anything.. videos are posted everywhere if you seek them out.

but to answer your request.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eYNgqL5v0A0

I am not out to bag anything. Why you would say I probably would Im clueless.Im not saying some riders arent out there tearing it up on the weekends.Im saying far fewer are.
What I am trying to say is the bikes are evolving away from dependability and durability because todays rider is not demanding it, it isnt about that anymore. And brands like Gas Gad are niche brands. If you want dependability and durability start telling the representatives of the manufacturer that.We hate the airbox, we are sick of these electrical problems.Tired of crap suspension that doesnt hold up.This cheesy chain guides got me fakkkkkkked up for real. That what Im saying let them know.Be specific about what you expect out of an offroad machine you are gonna lay 10k down on.A bike thats gonna be worth half that in 2 years. If the majority of riders like the way it looks in the back of the truck, if they just wanna ride something different. If they love the motors and the handling and are willing to put up with the rest. Then thats what you are gonna get every year. You decide its your money.Change the Gas Gas culture and the brand will follow.

I kind of felt that Enduro riding was growing fairly quickly. With all the exposure the Internet with social media has brought....

As far as video goes, all Im saying is some video of Gas Gas riders in this forum posting video of their bike in action would be cool Especially puttin a whoopin on the bikes they ride with. Not something you found on the internet.Ive seen some of liv2days videos and I will tell you the terrain they ride is a hell of alot steeper and technical then it appears on video.Thetes some really pristine good stuff out there you also do not see on the videos.I am guessing that is by design.

Is it just me ...

Some time back there was a guy wailing on about something like, top riders didn't ride GG cause the bikes weren't good enough and this had the spin-off effect of limiting overall sales. Dude was rambling, all over the place, and not able to coherently make his point. I'm not even sure he had one.

The posts in this thread from 'gasgasxc' have the same feel and tone to me ... everybody today is a pussy and out of shape, real men drink PBR, everything was better in the 80's ...

Is 'gasgasxc' a reincarnation of the same guy?

Right oh! Makes some more sense. There is a section in the forum called pictures and videos. Thats where you'll find them. I personally don't have the time, desire, or bandwidth to record, edit and upload. I have put some up in the past but its rare compared to how much I actually ride. I think you'll find the same. Those who ride, just get out and ride. Week in, week out.

JP4. I was sensing the same thing.. Appologies to the op for coming across a bit blunt. I just wasn't quite sure where you were going. Its always a balance between weight and reliablility. This and that. They make a bike to suit a large audience, and as individuals we all have different preferences when it comes to things. The trend I've seen with GG is that they have made progression and are listening.

On another note. Don't read into my thread too much. It was a rant and at rave at my particular experience with my particular bike. Its not every bike out of the factory, and a few of the things I listed are just things that happen. I was actually considering removing it this morning but was curious to see where it goes.

@gasgasxc, sounds like you are stuck on the bikes you used to ride back in your hey-day. And everything and everyone is crap unless you say it isn't! You sound more like a troll!

You have like 8 posts on here so far, well we haven't seen any videos of you tearing it up on some nasty terrain. Stop talking and put up, words are cheap!

Why would you really care what other people do with there bikes? They own them they can do whatever they want to them. You take the chattering of a FEW people talking about the problems they've had with a bike and suddenly the brand is crap, durability is crap, suspension is crap, etc. without taking into account the hundreds if not thousands of owners who beat the crap outta there bikes daily/weekly and have zero durability problems, suspension, airbox problems, etc.......

unusual thread youve got goin here!from what ive seen the garage queens are always the ones that cartwheel their bikes down the hill,in this scenario doesnt matter what brand, things are goin to break.the technically better riders tend to get off with some semblance of damage control...usually!
that said those 3mm screws in the flimsy plastic are entirely stupid!i leave them on always and hang tank from ceiling hook
i quite like the shock, and the fork, although it took some time to get them working together nicely.i am however nervous about the internals...
my tank fits nice but i dont like the lack of support around that top tankbolt.have added more rubber support.
the seat is way hard but allows great freedom of movement, ive gotten used to it.no other issues yet
keep postin clips every1,its not just about the riding, but also sharing terrain/track/scenery from all over t world, someone tearin it up is a bonus!
on the older bikes, yes the 4t's were bulletproof, theyve got steadily worse, and the rebuild costs can be horrific, but they do have a lot more perf now and a lot less lard
the 2T on the other hand are more reliable and rideable(if tuned/maintained reasonably well)than they used to be due to liquid cooling, synthetic oils,pv
good luck to you rubber johnny, that stuff is beyond pleasure and well into pain.

All the bikes have some issues . In my garage I have a 2011 250 Cervantes and a 2013 Ktm 200 xcw. Both needed suspension work , but then all bikes can benefit from that . Components are similar , Ktm has a nicer chain guide , but both benefit from the aftermarket there too.
Gasser air filter lasts 3 times as long as the Ktm as far as keeping clean. Also the gasser pipe design makes it only dent ,opposed to pull off the spigot every time you touch the Ktm pipe. Both improved with jetting work (again don't they all)
Funnily enough locally on a forum we have an uproar over a new gasser with a stator issue and how a new bike shouldn't have an issue like that, yet just talked to a local husky race team and their new bike stator died too. Grass isn't alway greener

When I see KTM buy a company like Husqvarna thats a red flag to me.Husky wasnt just a brand but a real deal motorcycle company with a long history and evetything that goes with that. These workshops have a culture and its about that shops ideas and the people working in those shops and how they think moyotcycles should be built. They are unique to that brand.Gas Gas may not have the history of a company like Husqvarna but they deffinately have their own ideas about how a motorcycle should be built.I dig that. The company is struggling and it puts the brand at risk. Most of the complaints are fairly inconsequential when you get right down to it.They are little things.Refinements.As far as video.goes, pictures, testemants etc,the brand is unknown to many riders and all people really know is what they have seen.Or it doesnt matter what you know, its what you can prove.I think the majority of you that actually ride these bikes are fairly honest in your evaluations of the bike. And then theirs those other guys who treat it mostly like a hobby, which is cool too, each their own.But if the brand is going to survive then some of the disconnect.between owners, riders, manufacturer and the general riding public needs some remedy.Wether I want to ride a Gas Gas or not is irrelevant.I just want the option.Sorry for the rant.

Good Luck Johnny. Last year I spent quite a bit of time riding with a couple mates who were preparing for it. He's keen to go again, and last time we spoke was trying to get me all gee'd up.

He ended up coming in 22nd in silver class.

Agree all bikes need maintenance and have room for improvement (especially for an individuals needs). 3rd party components are also out of the control of the brand. IE just about all the 2Ts are using kokusan stators, domino throttles, keihin carbs. Neil said it earlier, its all part of owning a bike.
