The Gasser

This may be premature because my 2011 was just stolen, but I have started looking around for other bikes. Before I bought my 2011 I did tons of research. And some things that kept popping up, was to stay away from the 2012 because of subframe issues?? And some people didnt seemed too thrilled with the 2013 either. Now it seems that the 2014 have gotten much better and looks like the 2015 even more so. If my 2011 isnt found I seriously doubt I will be able to find another used bike at that price with everything that it had. So I may be thinking new, but the one thing we all know about is the Gas Gas resale values :( Thats why I am afraid of getting a new one. Any input would be appreciated....

I sold my well sorted '11 for a new '14. Don't regret it for a second. The new frame and engine and suspension is so much better. Also you can work on the new bikes with only a spanner or two not a whole tool box.

Oh and I intend on keeping it for a long time. I don't buy any motor vehicle for resale value, otherwise I'd be buying ktm's yuck.

I forgot the states rx plastic subframes in 2013 as well. Alloy for the win.

I'll upgrade again after I put 300hrs on this one. On the way there already!

I also give the nod for an alloy as well, but no reason to not run a plastic in 2013.

I have only on gripe with my 12'. The rear brake pedal is very fragile, I have snapped two so far. The last time which was recent I just left it off since I have the LHRB. I changed my plastic sub-frame only because I was offered a one-time low price on it. Other then that I had no issues with the sub-frame. There was alot of loudness going on on here about the sub-frame, but the owner of it didn't break his, he just didn't like the design I'm assuming?

It was Stolen :(

I know. I was trying to make a point about resale value. I like my 2011 EC 300. I plan on riding it until it is worn out. I would buy another gasser without hesitation because if the newer ones are as good as my 2011 then I would ride it until it was worn out.

I would still like someone else to take the initial "hit" on the depreciation and pick up a well sorted 2014 but buying brand new wouldn't give me any heart burn either.
