Twisted Engineering - Carbon Bars

Thanks that's what I was wondering if you tweaked the bends if they would fit. I just called them cause I still haven't gotten mine and they had the wrong email and invoiced someone else so I'm waiting again now.
You would think that T.E. would have bark busters preformed for each different handlebar they sell since they only have 3 or 4 different bends but that may not be the case. Mine which I ordered as a set did not come close to matching the handlebars. They are also too long - even though my bars are uncut the barkbusters need about 3/4 inch cut off each one so I can see and operate the buttons on my enduro computer.

So Gasser did U leave any material at the end of the slot, or is it open now? I wonder if U asked, they might send the barkbusters out still in blank form? Cut your own slot?

Well mine should ship tomorrow now, I think it took so long because I requested white hand guards and I guess they usually only ship black.

They only sell black I think. Crashed hard last weekend. Bars and guards unscathed. When I installed I cut bars to 30.5". Guards fit perfectly with KTM bend.

I went 30.5
remember, the guards don't insert into the end of the bars. The guard straddles and pinches the end. So, whatever you cut is what you get overall.

30" Total is where I need to be. I was thinking that I needed to account for extra 1/2" of the aluminum.

So if you could go another 1/4" on each side then no worries from me.

After talking with Doug (one of the owners of Twisted Engineering) I realized that all barkbusters will have to be tweaked for proper fit because one end attaches (not really but it does have to align) to a fixed point (the handlebar mount) while the other end clamps to the handlebar end which rotates in the handlebar clamps when you adjust the bars to your liking. Since both the bars and the barkbusters are bent the angle needed on the end of the barkbuster will change some as the bars are rotated forward or back. Once the initial fit is made small changes can be made to handlebar rotation wihout any changes to the barkbusters. The initial tweaking of the barkbusters can result in an increase of their overall length which apparently happened in my case. I would think that bending the barkbusters to shorten their overall length is also just as possible.
I don't want to make it sound like fitting these barkbusters is a chore because it's not and I would rather mount these anyday than barkbusters that both ends mount on the bars.

I've pretty much cut them shorter and bent them to fit on the last 10 bikes I've had. It's a process that can be a PIA with dampers, computers, gps mounts, roll charts, and thumb switches, etc....

Oh boy well I hope mine get out soon, I'll give these bars some good crash testing I'm -15c weather see how they hold up

That will be good testing. The coldest so far I've rode was 28 degrees and the plastic on my bike and handguards became brittle and cracked/broke on impact.

I've actually had the opposite experience, my plastic has held up like a champ in the coldest of weather. Same with the carb I here a lot of people wrap there carbs to prevent freezing and I have know idea where there coming from because out of the 20 people we ride with none wrap there carbs and they all run in sub Celsius all winter. Maybe a just incase thing. Hopefully there is no weakness in the bars with a change in temp but time will tell
