What did you do to your Gas Gas today?

Installed new plastics. Worked on airbox, re-routed carb vent hoses, patched some paintwork on the frame (red Hammerite works wonders, by the way).

preseason prep

Today if finally got my mits on the GG for the first time this year (it's almost bike season for "me"). I removed the shock for a freshening and cleaned, greased the linkage seals and bearings. I'll try the JD blue needle after the ice takes a hike. Everything looked good so far.

Friday, four friends and I spend five hours on our bikes in the woods, removing race arrows and banners from the course of the March 2nd 2014 Bear Creek Hare Scrambles.

It was a great day to be in the woods on a dirt bike. 68F and clear.
The EC250 ran like a top.

It's now cleaned up and ready for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday this coming weekend.

I did some more work on my "budget" left hand brake setup, getting closer....this would be easier if I had a GMP type of mind :)

I installed my last new Bridgestone 401 on the front and changed the spark plug. While I was at it, I unplugged everything behind the headlight and put di-electric grease on the connectors. It's ready for tomorrow.

I'm planning on TrainRobbers with my grandson on his restored and lowered 2000 XC200.

Good Riding!

Replaced some steel bolts on the tank and rear subframe with their red anodized aluminium counterparts. Not that I'd notice these 10 grams but some bling does not hurt either :).

The brake line clamp on my fork guard was stripped out, so I dropped in a couple of 10-24 brass inserts. $4 and 10 minutes, job well sorted.

I had the same problem with scorpion rad guards and the chinese radiators. Had to remake the side panels and space out the cross bars.
Have fun.

maintenance

Some pre-ride maintenance, change oil,clean/lube/adjust chain, air filter swap.change pilot jet to a 40, complete check over.
Also fitting K.X.F. number plate.

Bought some Spectro synthetic 2 smoke oil for her today, used the last of my oil reserves Sunday riding her for the first time in 16 months. Man was that a sweet reunion, I'm still basking in the afterglow!
