What did you do to your Gas Gas today?

Well I didn't make much progress today. I'm waiting on a local shop to fabricate a new steering stem lower dust seal washer because I forgot to order one when I bought everything for the rebuild. So i did what I could and installed the new races.

i went on an awesome ride with a bunch of pumpkins, ended up drowning my bike, but the bike seemed to run better after is internal wash and new plug ;-)

So the other day I picked up my steering stem from the machine shop, complete with a new bearing and the dust shield they fabricated. I packed the bearings with grease and started to put the front end back together.

You may notice that the wiring loom has been simplified, eliminating the rats nest that used to hang behind the headlight.

And the finished product(minus front brake and barkbusters). I'm really happy with the result. Fired up first kick once I had the right plug in it.:p

Nice and Shiny! I wish I had the patience/time/motivation to bring my old girl back to that spec. I still can't bring myself to bolt up the 2011 headlight and fender.. Doesn't do much for me.

Over rated my man.the kind of riding you do if that last ride report is any indication, they wont look nice for long anyways.

BTW that bike looks damnnnnnnnn nice.

Fitted a pirelli mt43 last week and some "Paulos Pegs" ( tm pat pend) this week. A couple of rides in on the tire and I absolutely love it, no worse than a knobby anywhere and better in a lot of situations. The pegs are a winner too. Bit of a guesstimate location-wise, but they're good on fire trails and up hills and don't get in the way on downhills.

Great Tire at a great price and they last forever. I have never understood why some people have issues with trials through corners etc.

Whoaa, rear swingarm on my bike is shiny red now - sandblasted and powdercoated. Yes, I know this does not make me any faster but it makes my bike look better and I did not like how battered it was previously. Inspiration from here:

This not my bike - this is promo pic of Fantic, GasGas's secret twin brother from Italy :). Pics of my bike will be posted tomorrow. But yes, it's Metzeler 6 days extreme on the pic. 140 according to brochure. I am not sure I'd run 140 tire on 125 cc bike.

Sent the head of the '14 off for some loving. Even though this bike was jetted pretty well it still had a terrible blubber at 1/8 throttle. Stock head had 2.3mm of squish which blew out to almost 3mm by the end of the squish band. More the likely the cause of the blubber.
Bike now has 11 hrs on it.

Got the shits with the poor sticker application of the middle section of my rad shroud decals. Silly design going to a point on such a ridge. Wouldn'r have lasted a week. Peeled them back and trimmed them off. Same as my old ones ;)
