What did you do to your Gas Gas today?

So do I. Have nice trip to Krakow! I think it is a nice place. Apropos Krakow, a young Norwegian is also racing there this weekend. Mathias Martinsen is in the junior class. Only 16, but very fast. I have watched him on several occasions. Quite impressive for his age.

Talking of travelling abroad, I am supporting our young friend, Extreme enduro rider Anders Becker Johansen aka Becker'n. We were in Portugal and Sweden (me and my wife drive his Iveco truck) for the European Championship rounds this year. The trip to Portugal is a 2 week affair. Next year's plans include yet another trip to Portugal, the Lagares extreme this time.

No problem Matt only now there is a big hole in my Man Cave that needs a replacement ! Lots of luck with your new ride it sure does rip :)

Put my bike on diet as this winter we are participating only in races where lights are not needed - indoor motocross and maybe also some cross-country races.

So - lights are gone, both front and rear, some cabling also. New brake disks are waiting for installation, number of bolts and plastic details for replacement. Piston and cylinder are okay for now and top end rebuild will happen in the beginning of March.

Where do I find a quality front rim, preferrably A60 pre-drilled for GasGas?

Got an e-mail from our importer regarding placing orders for new, MY2018 bikes.

Placed an order for the 250:).

Does Christmas get any better? ;)

I am really looking forward to hear your impressions of that 2018 bike when you get it. Did you get an estimated date of delivery?
And no, it doesn't get any better. That must be the optimal Gasgas Christmas present :-)

No exact date, but according to my understanding 300 will be produced first and 250 a bit later. Both should be available in Europe before the racing season begins.

Yesterday I did my first winter race this year. It was called "ribbetrimmen" with translates to something like pork ribs workout. As pork ribs is the most common Christmas dish around here, the name point to the need for getting some exercise after all the heavy meals during Christmas. It is a fun, low cost race where everyone gets a price, a small marzipan pig.

Well, this winter is bad so far. No snow and a lot of mud in the track. Great fun, the winter rebuild worked out well. I ended as # 8 out of 12 in the above 50 class. However, my friend had to go to the the doctor with broken ribs after flying over the bars of his brand new orange 250. Not the best "first ride on the brand new bike" he has performed...

125 big bore

Taking my 125 to the engine shop to make it into a 152 should have pics as we work on it bore to a 144 with long rod

Finished (temporary) conversion to MX bike and full service.

1. Removed lights and most of the wiring loom - turn signals cabling, relay, map switch etc. Minimal 2-stroke wiring loom is wonderfully simple.
2. New chain and sprockets, added one teeth to the back, now 13/51.
3. Installed an HGS exhaust.
4. Cut my old and already bent FMF Q Stealth silencer short and made an experimental short silencer of it.
5. Engine rebuild - new piston, connecting rod, crank bearings etc.
6. New gear lever
7. New throttle assembly
8. Replaced cable-driven choke with normal choke knob
9. Replaced both front and rear brake disks
10. Replaced brake and clutch fluids
11. Checked, cleaned and greased all bearings on wheels and suspension
12. Serviced front fork
13. Installed Acerbis front brake disk guard
14. Replaced front brake line with a new, custom made one
15. Replaced a number of rusty bolts with fresh ones

That makes me want to quit fooling around and get one for my bike.
