Where are the 2014 reviews/rumors????

The very fact that Clay has not commented here in over a week and all the info is coming from Europe instead of the best importer in the biz...
That says a lot to me.

I kind of agree with this.Clay posted this morning on the sherco forum and Jeff Melik has switched mid season to racing a sherco and not a gg.

Saw that in Trail Rider i think. I went hmmmmm.

GasGas in the USA

Don't read into anything or a lack of anything into our silence. We haven't had pricing yet, and until Monday didn't have spec's on the 14's even. Clay's contract and ours was up or is up at the end of July and we are in discussions with GasGas about the future and how to proceed with their new investors, but there will be GasGas in the US.

Isn't that interesting. About says it all now doesn't it.
I know first hand Jeff Melik has nothing bad to say about GasGas.

As if selling both your bikes and spewing negativity under the guise of, "I'm critiquing the bike" is still not good enough that you have to continue fanning the flames of your discontent?

Really not understanding your MO at this point? We get it already, you don't like the new bikes. Walk away quietly and let us who do still like GasGas enjoy them without your negative input any longer?

You've given this community alot of great feedback and some excellent(some strange) mods and fixes for the bikes, but all of that is being over shadowed by the bad attitude and negative comments as of late. Is this how you wanted to go out or be remembered(so to speak)?

Agree with you on your comment 100%.
I too have learned a lot from the past feedback / posts.....but recently most all comments are negative and / or full of sarcasim

Holy $hit! Do you guys lie awake at night dreaming this stuff up? I finally got this stuff from the factory Monday morning. I went on the site to post it and it was already here. Honestly it pissed me off that I got very poor slides from GG last month and I had been asking for photos and when I finally get it I discover you guys got it quicker than me. And I still haven't gotten pricing for the bikes.
I let Jeff Melik ride the Sherco around in the field at the last national enduro and he came back with a huge grin on his face. I agreed to let him ride a Sherco because very few people have even seen a Sherco. A looooot more riders know what a Gas Gas is.
Yeah I'm working the Sherco forum harder than the GG forum. You guys do a lot of work here for me so I'm beating the drum over there.
This bike looks great and I believe its a step in the right direction. I have to be honest though when I tell you that when I send an email to Sherco about a problem , 99% of the time there is an answer the next day. That isn't the case with GG. Sherco is working harder to get a bigger part of my business now than GG is to keep the larger part of my business.
I get asked a lot of times about when I will be taking over GG parts because so many of you believe Mark is the problem but if Mark orders parts and those parts are b/o'ed from GG they will still be b/o'ed for me too.
We did get a letter this weekend from the main new investor and it said a lot of things I wanted to hear but they still have to do what they say they are going to do.
The last two months have been crazy. I built a 24x32 shop in the back yard, put up shelves for parts, put up 300 different parts on those shelves, serviced two race bikes, set up Zach's new race bike, serviced six demo bikes, got in a shipment of 32 Shercos and shipped out 27 of them. I'm just flat busier than I want to be right now.
All of you have my email address and phone number. Rather than speculating, pick up the phone and call me!
Clay

CLAY --- LOL :D:D:D
Your first line ------ Now that is some funny $hit...!!!!
It sure seems as though some like to start rumors and cannot wait to just hear what you have to say. Or better yet....like you said email you or simply call you to ask.....

I promised my friend Jeff I would not get into a pissing contest with you or Johnson, so I will do my best to keep this civil. You must have an overinflated opinion of yourself if you think it is my responsibility to keep you happy, warm and fuzzy here. What have YOU contributed here over the years? Intellectually and financially? Tell us please. Perhaps then you will be in a position to judge, but I don't think so. There are doers, and there are spectators, and as far as I can see your a spectator.

You seem to have this expectation of a social media experience here. This IS NOT social media, it is a technical forum. On technical forums problems get discussed, information is disseminated, and hopefully
as many benefit as possible. In this case, I am including the GG factory, because they do visit here. It is a tough balance to make a point and not hurt anyone, believe me I think hard about what I say and how far I take it. Do you think anything would get better if we all sat in front of our PCs, MACs, and iPADs waving the flag? Of course not. Not for the member that needs help with a problem and not for the factory that will likely say "oh well no one is bitching so its all OK. A single fast guy on a sponsored bike he does not keep long does not paint the full picture, its a much larger population of units in the hands of the average guys, who buy the bikes, that provide the valuable feedback. This is simply statistics. As far as some things being "strange", well thats relative to your level of understanding the particular problem.

So, yeah, I'm picking up my new Beta 300RR Race next week. It's just time to try something else that is more ergonomically correct. Yeah, I have been frustrated to no end with the problems with my '12 GG, but I have solved them all, some by myself and some with help from our excellent importer and parts guy that is trying his best. Both my bikes went to guys that are very happy. I am not here to bash the bikes and say they suck and buy something else, that is not me. I spent a year on a Cannondale and was still active here helping out where I could. I am not a hater, don't make me out to be one and don't be one.

I have met some great people here, and some have become good personal friends and riding buddy's of mine. But, as member numbers increase, so does diversity, and with that intolerance or hypersensitivity to the opinions of others.

I don't need this anymore, period. It's just not fun. I'm sick of the BS emails and PMs, and especially the fact that you bother my friend Jeff when I respond instead of taking it like a man since you started it. Like two little Jack Russel Terriers nipping at my ankles.

So, this is it. I suggest you leave it. This post is not for your benefit but for that of my friends here who may not realize what is going on behind the scenes.
I still have mod privileges and will ban you instantly if you propagate this, I promise you.

I don't want to argue with you either. Not worth my time or yours.
With all do respect why don't you start another topic in regards to this topic. This specific topic is for discussion about 2014 GasGas not why you are buying a Beta.
Thanks

I can now post with a sigh of relief now that Clay and Mark have set the record straight. I have been quietly and patiently waiting to hear the news as it comes In. I am in the market for a new scoot this year and was not ready to give up my long relationship with the brand yet, but had been contemplating the "what if" scenario's.

Frankly I'm excited and I like what I've seen and have read here about the 2014 Gas Gas'.

Of course I still want answers. I have seen no info about the air box yet, I wonder if it has been enlarged and sealed up better.

Yes the shock is another unknown and is a bad color for a bike color match, but everything I have read on Reiger's web site sounds like they got their stuff together and make very good products. It be great if Reiger could get Les some info on this shocks internals.

I think Mark (GoFasters) handles the parts distribution demands great. Again I just put in another large order of oddball stuff for my 2011 Sunday online, it'll all be here Friday. What more could you want. Backorders can happen for every brand.

And as far as Glenn he is a Gas Gas enthusiast, not a basher and I expect he will be on here from time to time and may even own another Gas Gas some day. I've seen em come and go. Many seem to find there way back on the Gas.
Thanks Glenn for contributing over the years. The Beta is a real nice bike the 14 is even better. The foot peg height is a bit low like the older Gas Gas' so keep them toes up in the rocks.

Roscoe

Thanks Roscoe. The 300 RR Race has a high end grade of the 48 Zoke PFP fork, and some other bling, which is what I wanted, so I got one instead of a standard '14 with the Sachs forks. Tank size does not matter for what I do, never an issue in our races. The frame stiffness has been played with but all mfg go back and forth with that. It's been a rock solid bike under Cody Webb all year, I won't break it! Above all its the size and weight, I just like a smaller chassis. After riding my bro's XLite Husky I knew I had to make a change.

This is a great time to be in the market for a bike. So many good choices and more coming. It's fantastic that these small companies like Beta and Sherco can put out such awesome bikes in so little time.

Glenn,

I don't really have a saying in this, not my business, but I totally understand your point of view and your urge to try something different, happened to me when riding a KTM. I just wish you don't leave this "shed" and continue to present us with your objective comments and interesting posts. Does not really matters to me if their about GG, Sherco or Beta, I like all bikes in general . :)

I second this. I'd be happy to see subsections for both other bikes.. Simply because the people (and information) here is mostly always on topic. Sure there is still some personality and jest thrown around, but we can continue to have technical threads with real advice. It seems other forums are filled with people either answering questions that they know nothing about, but once heard about someone else that did something.. or clowns that just want to take everything off topic.

The 2014 gasser has some trick parts, but I'm not sure its enough to brew up the excitement I felt in both 2012, and 2013.. I'm probably a bit jaded as the last couple times I got excited our importer couldn't land bikes in the country until well and truly into the year.

I have to admit that lately it feels like I am visiting a Beta forum instead of the Gas Gas forum. I come on here to here what is going on in the Gas Gas world. I also like visiting the Sherco forum to see whats going on over there. But I tried getting on the Beta forum and didn't have much luck.

Enough of the Beta talk already.
There is a sub forum here for "other bikes".
Take the Beta discussions there.

Betty? Did you say Betty? She has a forum? I like her. I just came by for a donut. So much tension here. I'm pissed too. I wanna know about the 2015 models. NOW!:o
