Wtf???

Most of us have our big-boy pants on here so discussing problems shouldn't be an issue - nor should talking about real-life experience with non-Spanish brands.

That being said, let me go on record as saying the GasGas 300 is the sweetest off-road motor I've ever experienced ...

Well said. Its not like anyones trying to upsell other products. Its just open discussion and it all helps us to form our own opinons. I'm all for it.

Don't make me bring out the repair bills for the front end of my 2005 Chevy Duramax (that was the tow-monster replacement for my trusty '05 Tacoma).

Idler arm & Pitman arm (twice in 160K). Both left and right "no-maintenence" wheel bearing$. Screwball electrics (right-rear window)...

I love my 2001 xc300 so much that I ordered a SmartCarb for it. :p
I am waiting patiently. Update due today, I think.

My bike is in my living room getting prepped for Southwick next weekend.

I love my Gas Gas. Maybe interested in a 2015 if Spain gets its act together. Some of the simple requests from this group should not be too burdensome for the factory to address.

I'm not against discussing problems, brands etc...I just wanted to switch gears. It was getting a little dark here. Positive or negative, one thing i've learned is they are both like snowballs on a steep long hill. Just depends which one you wanna send down the hill first?

agreed... my gasser has been as reliable as an anvil.. most of my riding buds dont like it, but i dont care.. it is a sweet ride..

i did just venture off and buy and orange 200 smoker.. had been looking for one for a while.. i dont think it will hold a candle to my 07...

we did just up the value on it the other night when we tapped the drain plug that was stripped to accept a gasser drain plug.. lol

just ready for gasgasman to buy his new one and give me the 11...

Sometimes you don't know how good things are for you until its gone. This site by far has the most friendly, helpful and knowledgeable members on the net. We also have Clay and Mark who put up with us on a daily basis. And yes, Beta koolaid is in fashion right now and I accept that with a smile. But remember one thing, VIVA GASGAS!:D:D:D

As will the Sherco when it comes to dance;)

I don't deal in fashion or trends, just cold hard facts and experiences. Those are what they are whether some of you guys like it or not.

IMHO, this forum represents the combined knowledge of countless man hours of experience with the GasGas motorcycles over several years. I think it will be interesting to see the longterm performance of the new brands/models that are just hitting the market.

Hated my 2012 ec300. Sold it. Bought an 07 ec200. Problem solved.
I must assume, unlike my 07 300, you don't have the absolutely miserable 45mm Zokes that nobody has been able to valve more forgiving than putting a 2x4 up front.

Other than that it's been a superb bike. I broke the 400 hour mark with little other than minor maintenance. :)

True, time will tell how good the new bikes really are. One can only go by what is obvious at the current time. I'm speaking simply from an engineers perspective examining the Beta. I just like the way it's made, it says quality. For that matter so does a KTM, but I can't stand riding them, so there is the other side of the coin. GGs quality problems are silly, and should just not happen to anyone mfg. things like this in 2013. Especially things like the water pump. Completely avoidable, that's the sad part.

'07 was a good year, mine too has been good and is an extremely hard running 250. After riding the new Zoke 48 the 45 feels like crap though, at anything over a technical pace.

I love this 2010 but of course I only rode it an hour before I ruptured my bicep tendon catching it when it was falling over at the truck (not an auto kickstand event, I had it standing too straight and it was VERY windy, kickstand was still down). I am sure if I was dealing with constant issues for several years I'd be ready for a change.

I always said the KDX200 I had was the best woods engine ever just with bad suspension. This is like that engine made MUCH better but with pretty good suspension too (mine has been re-worked though).

Oh I don't think much negativity at all. Just small issues that should be pointed out and fixed easily I would think! Like my sidestand! it's all good it's beautiful and best of all it's not orange!!!! And what good handling eye candy!!!!

What can I say I like a firm ride :)

I dont find them too bad

What's involved swapping in the 48's?

The only drawback I see to the swap is cost. The cost of the forks, triple clamps and front wheel/hub (unless the axle is the same). I figure the swap with all new components would probably be $2.5K. Of course in a couple of years you might be able to find someone parting out a 12 or 13 and get them for a reasonable price.
