APT SmartCarb

First ride on the 36mm billet Smartcarb. Have some starting issues to work out, but once it was running I enjoyed it.

Tavis, a new drainless float bowl is headed your way today. A friend of ours over on the orange forum created an "unofficial tuning guide". Along with a little support from us has posted it on google docs. It covers the hard starting issues that some are experiencing and expounds on the slide height/clicker interface that we explain in our tuning video. Take a look and see if it doesn't clear up a few things for you.

And anyone else looking at this, it would be nice if we could let Barry know that his work is appreciated.

That guide was super helpful. I've got it firing first kick now :). It just needed leaned a few clicks.

Got the cast SmartCarb installed a few weeks ago. Only has 30 miles on it.

Excuse the chain-it has since been jettisoned when I changed sprocket sizes.

It's working really well.
If I lug the engine, it comes up on the pipe quick.

No spooge from the Q Stealth silencer!

Anyone hear what the hell happened to APT? Their facebook page says their page was compromised by an ex employee. I emailed them and got a response by a guy at a new company.

I'd love to get a cast 38mm.

The SmartCarb side of APT has spun off into another company,
Their web site is: https://technologyelevatedco.com/

They also have a reed valve block with NO moving parts.

The reedblock looks fantastic. I was reading that it will not have any flexing parts... I can't wait to see what materials they use and how it works.

That's what I learned in the email I received, however APT has this posted on their FB page:

APT is sorry for the recent silence and confusion regarding its proprietary technologies and patents. Our Facebook page was recently compromised by an ex-employee of the firm. We were temporarily unable to remove unauthorized posts or to respond to false statements on our Facebook page. After working directly with Facebook to secure the page, APT is once again fully in control of its social media account. We thank you for your patience and understanding.

APT owns all of its registered intellectual property and trademarks, including but not limited to the SmartCarb and the Sonic Flow engine technologies. None of our proprietary technologies have been sold, spun-off, otherwise licensed to any outside party. While maintaining complete ownership, usage and control, APT assigned its intellectual property as collateral to its senior creditor in 2013, several months before going public. Accordingly, APT is unable to transfer, sell, or spin-off any of its intellectual property. Any statement to the contrary is inaccurate and unfounded.

APT apologizes for any confusion caused by rogue posts on this or other pages or third party websites.

Well, heard back from Technology Elevated... got a billet 38 coming from them.

The APT statement still confuses me... at least I have a carb coming.

You will find yourself bringing home extra fuel that the bike didn't use.:D

I have found out that when the bike is running lean, it feels like it's running rich as with a conventional carb. So be aware of that when adjusting the metering rod adjuster.

And... it is awesome! Put my first actual miles on the new carb today. A little more power down low and considerably more power through mid-high end.

I needed a throttle cable with more cable exposed for my 2005 EC250. I didn't have enough slack to have any freeplay.

Ordered the cable recommended by Technology Elevated.

Good to hear. I have the same bike and the same throttle cable already. I think I'll order one and try to fit it to my XR650R. If that doesn't work then I can put it on my Gas Gas.

APT Smart Carb

Does anyone know who sells parts for a 38mm smart carb? I need a q9 metering rod. I have emailed and called APT with no reply. korey
