I talked with Clay last night and he sounded quite good. Not as grumpy as normal actually :D. He said he feels really good considering what just happened.

His wife, Sandy is flying to TX to pick him up this aft and they are flying home at 2pm. I am sure he will post something here later today.

Get well soon! By the way if you need a stand-in to ride some new model bikes or fly to Spain or anything, just let me know!

Clay Stuckey Update- Man Down

Clay,
Wishing you and your family all the best. Here's to a speedy recovery. Cheers.

Thank you all for your well wishes and kind words. I got home last night about 8pm. I feel pretty good....just a little tired.
I had noticed in the last 12 months that I just didn't have the strength to finish 5 sections at a National Enduro where I was riding all 6 the year before. I went to my doc in November and he sent me to a cardiologist who did a stress test. He told me that the test did not show any problems and that it was prolly my age (52) and that I needed to lose 30 pounds. In the 4th test Sunday at the TX enduro my chest started hurting and I felt nauseous. I pulled over to the side of the trail and Zach stopped with me. We got back to the start area and to an ambulance and the the helicopter ride to the hospital in San Angelo, TX. An hour later I had a stint in my heart. The doc said one artery was totally blocked from a McDonald's french fry.
Anyway....I have an appointment scheduled with the cardio guy tomorrow and we will see what he says. I still plan to do demo rides at the LL Spring ride and the LA National Enduro. I won't ride the LA race but hope I can ride the TN enduro in late April.
Again...thanks for all of the posts, emails, texts and phone calls. Also...I'm good on insurance so donations are not necessary but I do appreciate the thought.

Good news ! Thanks for the update, now GET WELL & take care of yourself, & be glad you're faster than Zach or he might not have found you on the trail

It is great to hear from The Man himself :). Thanks for the report Clay. Hey I did get to see the Sherco 300 as it flew over the MX jump I was flagging at the opening VCHSS race our club sponsors. Sweet looking bike for sure. Take it easy and it's great to have you back.

It's nice to see you still have your sense of humor!
When I have my heart attack it will be a Mozzarella stick...Mmmmm... fried cheese.

I have been surprised at how many guys here have had this procedure. It's good to know that so many have recovered and are still riding. My wife is a very smart lady but last night she said something really stupid...."Don't you think it's time to retire from racing?" Wow! I thought she knew better than to even waste her breath on those words!
Again...thank you all for the kind words, thought, prayers and words of encouragements.
Clay
