Favorite Pre-Mix Oil

Air fuel mix burns at around 2000 degrees c. Two strokes do not burn all the fuel though.

Hmm. Steel melts at around 1350c and aluminum melts at 660c. So how on earth do you think that combustion temps are 2000c? After about 5 min of an engine that has combustion temps of 2000c you would have a big ball of melted aluminum between your legs

I got some Ipone 2R today (the 'top of the line' stuff, not the strawberry smelling stuff), will test it tomorrow and report back. Spiffy looking bottle..

Looking for an alternative to TTS.. i like to mess around with things.

I've been using castrol a747 been through quite a few bottles can't fault it and smells amazing but I might give the motul 800 or 710 a whirl next

Silkolene castorene R40 smells the same as A747 cheaper and synthetic blended....cheap as chips for 5 litres or liters :D

Castrol TTS
50:1
I've run it since the late 80's in all my 2 strokes
Never had a failure and always a nice thin film of oil in the cases when I've striped then down

Settled on Castrol tts 40:1 not much spooge, not much smoke, plug clean, good colour, quite like the smell, internals look good
Also like belray h1r for wot protection, off throttle too much drool, bit more smoke, plug clean ,good colour, engine internals perfect at top end, slightly oily but clean,no deposits
Tried some mobil racing 2t,very little spooge, not much smoke, but discolored plug and left deposits on plug making it hard to read after 2 tanks of fuel.Additives?
All mixed 40:1 with same jetting,Castrol it is!

New to 2T's but I use Champion WP-2. Seems to work fine, spooge seems high, but that could just be my jetting and how I ride. Slow!

I had been using one of the Maxima oils but changed to Motorex to see if it cut down on the spooge. Then I found out my PV drain was closed. After opening that there's no more spooge so I went back to the maxima.

I get a deal on it through a friend, but the biggest reason I like maxima is because when I did a 30 mile ride through super technical rocky single track with no coolant in the bike, when it did finally burn down on the road back to the truck, it melted the piston, turned the wrist pin blue, melted the spark plug, but never seized. Everything still had a sticky coat of oil on it. I think that's pretty cool.

I've used that oil a lot and it's a very good oil but it is a synthetic blend so I use slightly more in my fuel mix than I do with a full synthetic. I ran it at 43/1 which is 3 ounces per gallon. The flashpoint for WP-2 is low and that's want you want for slow/technical riding. It should not spooge anymore that other oils and much less than a lot of others that have a higher flashpoint. If the previous owner of your bike was running a high flashpoint oil and/or hadn't changed the packing in the silencer for a long time you could still get excess spooge for a good while even after you change the oil in your fuel mix.

Big fan of Motul 800 in the past, ran it in my CRs and KDXs years ago. Have been riding 4 strokes for the last few years, but now on a EC200 so grabbed a 1L Ester Motul 800. Smells awesome :p Expensive though. $45 NZD...so about $24USD.
Anyone rate the 'Spectro' oils? They have full synthetic but it $15 cheaper a litre over here.

I find The 800 is good for on-the-pipe riding but not so good for enduro typ riding where you don't spend much time in power band. The 720 is better for this -burns better- also cheaper

Klotz R50 now.

You really can't go wrong with Spectro. Family and friends have used Spectro products for 35 years with no seizures or meltdowns but a fair amount of oil on the piston during rebuild and coming out the back of the pipe after rides. One day 30 years ago I complained about it to my dealer and he promptly called me an "idiot" as that is what you want with a 2T...And he was right! Ever since I always look for that oily film during rebuilds no matter what oil I am using!

Nice one, might give Spectro a go next bottle.

Castrol TTS @ 50:1 works mint in a 300
Stay away from Motul 800 in anything over a 200 it works best in 80,s & 125's on a MX track
:D:D:D:D
