yep, I had the 2011 six days. I initially thought I jammed a rock in there, but the wear mark on mine was in the exact same spot, same pattern. Everything looked like there was plenty of clearance, so I don't know...........

Someone remind me please as this has been a long thread, which model is the US going to see first? Is it the EC "Racing" with the CC forks (I hope, I hope, I hope) or is it the standard EC?

What brought the question to mind is looking at the model pictures and hoping to get the EC Racing with the Red and White graphix as that one really "speaks to me"

New one is plastic ? Would it fit the 2011' models ? If the 2012 cover is wider than the old one will the 2011 bikes have enough clearance between the brake pedal and the 2012 cover ? I would be interested in getting one if it solves the clutch squealing .

When we were in Spain in May, one of the tech guys showed us the new clutch cover and said it would fit on older bikes. It has a kind of funnel shape molded into it that channels the oil directly into the clutch basket.

We are only bringing in XC Race models and XC Race models with e start. The Race models have the CC fork (and it is a really good fork).

The brake line has always rubbed on the motor since '00 at least. I zip tie it to avoid this.
You can loosen the banjo bolt in the MC a fraction, and rotate the hose fitting slightly toward the spring, so the hose sits clear between the spring and the engine case.

This is how i dealt with it. You can see on the MC where the stop is for the bango. Mine now sits about 2mm from the stop and has enough clearance not to contact the spring or the cases.

Are the swingarms painted or is that a plastic guard. I have seen that rub mark with the hyde swingarm cover. It is also pretty easy to bend the whole master towards the swingarm in a crash, also equally easy to pry to back.

Did this on both my Huskies as well, as they have the same issue.

On my Husky it wasn't so much the swing arm rubbing rather the engine case.
Solved it with a tie-wrap.

Fits me

Just sold my 2009 KTM 300 for a 2011 GasGas 300
I'm 6"1" and use a tall seat and the EE handlebar risers.
Fits me perfect, no issues, if you wanted more room, use the Fastway footpegs with the lowboy position.

I'm 6'4" and run a 1" bar riser, pivot pegz in low boy position and an Enduro Engineering tall seat. Also Kevin Windham bar bend handlebars for a slightly taller more straight bar feel. Sure I'm biased, but my bike feels great ergonomically. Super roomy. Everyone else I let try my bike says the same thing. My buddies identical bike, stock, does feel small and cramped to me.

My son is 6' and he put the bars in the forward holes, installed the tall seat, and he was good to go. They are only slightly shorter in the seat height and bar reach and with a few changes (if needed) you will love the GG bikes. Have you ever ridden a newer GG bike?

I got to ride an 09 250 smoker for about 2 minutes a year ago so how much you can learn by that is of course minimum. Like others have stated, I'll just plan on; bars forward, tall/medium firm seat, and if needed, adjustable pegs.

Thanks for the input, I feel more comfortable.

This thread has slowed down some:D

Any new You Tube vids or any Euro pics of the real deal out in the world?

Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and I am counting the seconds till this beast hits my local market.

It has slowed down. I posting to see if I can get the page to turn and see when the as built pics were going to be out. Hey who was it that was going over there to take the pics. ?

Mark Berg has been in Spain since Saturday. Mark was unable to get a pic of a completed bikes. When the factory decided to go back to the conventional airbox design, they had to change some plastic at the last minute. This caused a delay with the plastic guys (Polisport) so bikes are not completely finished. He said there are hundreds of bikes at the factory that are 98% done but none totally finished.
We were supposed to have a half container of 300s shipped tomorrow and another shipped in early January. Today I got an email from the sales manager telling us that the plastic had not arrived so the bikes coming to the US will be delayed until early January. As soon as they get the final plastic pieces, those pieces will be quickly bolted onto the bikes that are 98% complete and they will ship them to us.
We're really sorry about the delays. Hopefully the bike will be worth it when it arrives. By the way......Mark mentioned that the people responsible for the airbox screw up had been fired.

Man that 2012 looks good. Too bad Gas Gas has made great motorcycles for too long because I really LOVE my 2001 ec200 and I can't see spending 8grand to replace something that works so well. :D
