Newer Plastic on Older GasGas show your bike

I would cancel the order on that IMS tank, it won't fit flush either. You need to cut that piece off the shock mount like we have suggested.

I did want the larger fuel tank anyways. But the decision was made for me when I was told the tank was on a 6-8 week backorder.
Looks like I'll be cutting off the seat mount tonight and moving forward.

Is anyone able to post a picture of the rear side of the headlight?
I think I have a pretty good idea of how everything else goes together, but I am a little baffled by the headlight assembly.

Specifically it's mounting points.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!!

Are you talking about the rubber straps that mount the headlight to the forks?

Hmmm Possibly. It seems to me that it should show one on each side and they should be larger, but the picture may just be garbage.

I would not call the picture "garbage", but it does follow the standard GasGas parts book practice of getting all the pieces in the photo, proportion be damned. :)

For example:
I had the darndest time finding the part number of the replacement top bushing's for the original style chain guide bracket by looking at the parts books. In the photos, it looked a washer, not a bushing.
It's part #37 in this photo:

Pic is strange, but yes that is the rubber strap to mount the headlight.

In the 2001 parts book, it was a little better, but still was not so easy to recognize: (It's still part #37 in the photo, just more in proportion and in the approximate location this time. )

OK thanks everyone. It has been almost 3 days since I have had to order anything from GoFasters, they should maybe just run a ups truck straight from there to my house:D

Another of my favorite "quirks" about the gasgas parts fiche is that some of the parts are listed in english and others are listed in spanish:p

ok FINALLY MANAGED TO GET SOME PICS OF MY 2010-2011 upgrade before it gott too scratched up:

before (well sort of after i had started)

and now:

Matt,
Is it an optical illusion, or do you have a bad kink in your exhaust pipe at the first bend out from the cylinder?

The bike looks great, by the way.

Nope think it is just an illusion (ooo ah aha aahha!) the pipe is almost new.

@desertgasser300 i agree, i considered getting a white 2010 front end (as i think it was nicer) but in the end $$ decided

its a pity i did not have the energy to take a pic of it standing at the top of a mountain the other day - surrounded by pumpkins the GG really was the belle of the ball

(a selfie of the riders would have painted a completely opposite picture!)

All the plastics on my subframe were hanging off and worn well out of spec rattling around with every vibe/bump. They've lasted a LONG time though so I can't complain.

Went ahead and gave everything a good clean and put half of the cervantes kit on the bike. Still need to put the exhaust, frame guards, and brake pedal bushing back on her. I like it with the 2010 headlight fender. Do you think I should go white handguards and fork guards too? I have them new in the kit! Still need to add swingarm decals!

Shock serviced and slight valving tweak today as well, forks recently, and around 25hrs on the current top end! I've still got a soft spot for the old girl (even with a new one in the shed).
