Newer Plastic on Older GasGas show your bike

Well, Greenland's Roberto says the transition kits are out of production for now.
I guess if I do it I'll have to piece it together myself...sounds expensive. Ant ideas???

Go fasters still has the update kit on their website.
I'd been dragging my feet on ordering from motorcross center and it ended up costing me. The same kit from go fasters is about $300 more. I ordered it anyways, live and learn I guess.

So once that gets here Ill throw up some pics of my 99' 300 conversion.

Just received an email from Go Fasters they do NOT have the update kit in stock. In the email they claimed they would have them in a month and a half. I asked for a refund rather then waiting.

Yes, it kinda sucks. I have a connection within Gas Gas ( I used to work for them) and I'm trying to find out if they will offer them again. I suspect they did this kit with left over inventory and it may or may not happen again. I'm thinking of going with 2006 number plates and a Kawasaki rear fender then the 2011 rad guards, headlight and front fender. I started pricing the kit out in parts and it was getting out of hand so I gave up on that option. Maybe we will luck out soon on a kit. Good luck.

Motorcrosscenter have also increased the price of there Transformation kit from
369 to 484 Euro, but are still out of stock.

Well I did get lucky. After sending an email to Mikel at motocrosscenter het got back to me within a day or so saying he had found another kit. So I got my order in right off to avoid missing out again. It should be here this week:D

So if anyone else is still serious about getting this update kit I would highly recommend starting a dialogue with Mikel. I'm not sure if he scored one from another dealer or where he found it but there seems to be a few out there yet.

Cant remember if i posted or not but here is mine after the first ride

Good deal! Make sure to post some pics when you finish.

Guess what showed up today?
A big box of fun from Spain. I can't believe how quick shipping was.
Tracking shows it leaving motocross center on Saturday and it was on my doorstep at 10am Tuesday:D

I'm waiting for some ebay stuff for a week. Hey, how about a post of the kit uninstalled (if possible)

Will do.
I'm still in the process of swapping a set of 50mm husky zokes onto the old gasser. When that's finished up I'll take some really good before and after pics of the body update.

Now that the weather is getting colder I'm looking at getting this project going again (after my 50mm zokes are bolted on:cool:)

Is this the correct tank Jim is referring to?
http://www.imsproducts.com/Products...=true&tyd=true&YearsSet=00-04&SizeSet=3.4 gal

I did ask Mikel and he said the stock 00-11 tank would work, but ideally I would like to do a bigger tank while I'm at it.

I took the advice of Mikel at motocross center and purchased the stock tank as it was half the price of the ims tank. Well turns out it doesn't fit:mad:

Just an FYI for anyone else who attempts this on a older bike.

My 11 tank fit on my 04.

Way back on page 11 I posed the question. According to Jim the rear shock mount was changed in 03

"To add to the excellent advice above; If you look for aftermarket tanks in the US that are compatible with your project, look at the IMS tank that was made for the 2000-2002 bikes. It is perfect for the job. It was not updated when the top shock mount was moved in the 2003 models. (The Clark tank that came out in 2003/4 was designed to fit the change. I'm not sure who is offering what for the newer models.)"

I have a new IMS tank on my 2002 EC300/o that fit my bike better than the stock tank that came on it. I would try the ims and make sure you can return it if it doesn't fit. I have one with the drybreak filler but I have an adaptor that allows me to use a regular cap. ????

Sweet kit Boardrider. Hope it goes together easy. Looks like a lot of stuff. Keep us up on your progress.

If anyone has a 2003 and up Gasser and wants an aftermarket fuel tank, the Clarke tanks were updated as the models changed.
Check out their page for their selection. Just remember that the older tank is really set up for the 2003 (the first year of the shorter shock with the different upper mount location).

i have 04 (i think) plastics on my 2000 - you need to change the airbox a bit to fit. you can also put all the way up to 2011 shrouds on as far as i know..

here's a pic from a while back - i now have different shrouds and seat.. been thinking about some 10/11 shrouds for it.

If you want to sell your yellow plastics let me know. - Ken

so the parts needed are the shrouds, rear sub frame, airbox sides, filter support, seat , rear fender and new tank? then depending on how you want to take this, a new front fender, head/tail lights. do you need an ai box off a newer 250?
