Newer Plastic on Older GasGas show your bike

To be a little different we went retro with my son's 2004 DE300. It is a mix of new old stock KX and 2000 XC300 plastic. We nicknamed it Captain America.

Was a right pain to do but I think the end result was worth it.

Purchased the kit from Motocrosscenter.com which was slightly cheaper than greenlandmx and free shipping in Europe.

I dont speak or read spanish and i can not find the conversion kit on motocrosscenter.com...can someone help pls

I recently bought a transformation kit from motocrosscenter for my 2002.
It was $489-US total including shipping to colorado, got in here in 6 days as well!
They drop the VAT if sending out of europe.

They actually drop the VAT when shipping out of the European union. So even when shipping to me in Norway they drop the VAT. Hovewer, I have to pay the Norwegian VAT, of course.

Sent from my OMNIA7 using Board Express

I received a response from MotocrossCenter regarding their kit-
Hello Phil, the modification kit is available with the following plastic kits:

- cervantes 2011.

- cervantes 2013.It has an extra cost of 25.00 euros.

- nambotin 2011.

- suomy 2012.

The price of the kit is 280.16 euros ( without vat).

The shipping cost is 70.00 euros.

The payment may be done by:

- credit card.

- transfer bank.

- paypal: that?s the way we use to recommend for international orders.

To send the order we would need your name, surname, telephone number, passport number and your complete address incluiding the zip code.

If you have any other doubt please ask us.

Thanks.

Mikel.

Motocrosscenter.

That's $460 USD ($500 for the 2013 Cervantes) shipped to my door. That is a very good price.

Certainly is a good price and their customer service is very good too. I received mine quickly (Europe) and well packaged. The only issue I had was the air filter panel stickers were wring (250r instead of 300r). One email later and the correct ones were on their way.

Why would they need a passport number?

As part of their shipping documents and laws they require a Taxation number or Passport number for customs to process the shipment. I very much doubt they would check it against any real records for thouse outside of their country though.

Wes.

Thats very sexy indeed. I was just looking at the 2011 upgrade packages last night and considering doing the same to my 2010 Race. Either a cerventez/nambotin model I think. I did prefer the headlight and shroud of the older models though. Also FYI. That is 2011 plastics on yours. Not 2012 ;)

Thanks JakobI. I prefer the 2010 headlight/front fender combo as well, but I don't hate the newer ones. The 2011 six days was the Mexican plastic, 2010 (my original) was Portugal, I'm pretty sure this is the 2012 six days even though it used the old style frame.

Wes.

Good call on the plastics. Can't argue with you there :) Either way it looks nice mate. Good luck with the sale. I'm sure it'll make someone very happy!

2005 ec300 converted to 2011 nambotin complete strip and rebuild the bike was a dog when first bought. Suspension rebuilt frame ,pegs, swing arm and wheels powder coated. Engine striped new reeds pv cleaned. Chain and sprockets bearings and scilencer .tyres, tubes and rim locks not far of done waiting on s3 head and new piston ..................

Oh my! :jawdrop:

My 2011 tribute bike. (2000 EC250) It was fun to put something together that I've only seen in pictures. (not many GG bikes around here) Stuff I needed= Transformation kit, 2011 air box boot, modify oe tc2 silencer to to fit new subframe, machine silencer mount spacers, fab mount for CDI, locate most all hardware, fit/shape back side of shrouds to mount up well on tank and radiators, fab f. fender mount to my KYB forks, modify subframe strut mount tabs so the subframe sits straight and fits right.

Let me see if i have this right. 99-2001 GasGas bikes can be updated to up to 2005 plastics without major mods.

Thanks, TAZZER
owner of a new too me 1999 GasGas ec200:)

I found this thread very interesting, and enjoyed looking at the photos of how you all have changed the looks of your machines. I'm also trying to learn what has been going on with the parts since I quit working with it on a day to day basis in 2006.
However, I saw that the original poster of this thread had asked a question that was not directly answered (although it was answered in a "parts list" on one of the posts).

What I'm referring to is the part I quoted above.
In reply, I would say. "Without major modifications" would start with the 2000 year model.
To convert the '99 to the newer plastics (shrouds, particularly) would require a different seat and fuel tank, and removing the tab off the frame which catches the '99 seat; so that the newer tank would fit.

Good Riding to All Ya'll!
Jim
