+1 when i switched to mx31 and tubliss at 6psi or so, i have never found myself saying 'i wish i could get some traction' ;) as long as i'm careful with the throttle, it always hooks up.

Ditto, although I'm finding this 300 is shredding my mx31 compared to my 200 go figure!! I have one flip in the tire which is happening very soon, then I think I'll try the 51 and see how much traction I give up for the extra life. Although I tell ya, I was always so happy with the 752, I'm seriously thinking of trying the 952 as they say it is the same mold as the old 752, hands down the best all around tire I ever tried.

I run a 51 in the back and either 31, MC SI or S12 in the front. the softer tires, the 300's just chew up.

I have been running the mitas c18 for the past few months and very happy with grip and wear. Stiff sidewall means it works well with tubliss but you do need to run lower presure than normal. Had a bridgestone gritty on before and prefer this tire
On the front I have just added an m201 and so far I like it. Better than the original enduro comp and much better than the motoz hd I had before (but that was not the. Right type of tire anyway)

yeah, the 31 does not last in the rear... i wore out a 51 just as fast. ymmv. i'm willing to sacrifice $ for traction though :)

Mitas?

Where can we get Mitas tires in the US now? The MitasMX online site is all but dead, product links all go to the same place, unclear if its just poor site maintanence or shop is closing down. There is a new plant being built in the USA but for agricultural equipment tires. I like some of the Mitas tires, the copies (same mold actually) of the old Trellies, the C-12 sand tire, and of course the ET-01 is my favorite trials tire. I'd like a source for these, would love to try some Tubliss especially the Trellborg clone, that was a good tire.

i tried the new dunlop mx31 front and rear on my bike for a 90mile trail ride yesterday combined with trelleborg t lock they were superb , the terain was a mixture of hard pack , rock ,sand ,gravel and tarmac , the tyre have hardly any wear on them at all , im well impressed

had not seen this yet. looks like a tubliss system, but without a second valve. got any pics of it? the site doesn't show much...
i didnt take any pics, but have a look at the video.
i was a bit sceptical at first , but i did a 90 mile tril ride yesterday and all was fine with some hard impacts on the rocks, the kit itself was easy to fit , just the dunlop tyres were super stiff so was a bit of a pain to fit , once the tyre was on the rim and the t lock inflated and the tyre i had no leaks at all:D

So its like a Tubliss, but they have you inflate the tire by piercing it with what looks like a shock charging needle, and it is sealed with the sealer you must add prior. So, every time you want to adjust pressure up you have to poke another hole?

that's the way it looked to me. looks like potentially a better system than tubliss - with one less part (not inner tire/tube, just an inner tube. - aside from the fact that checking pressure could be difficult (poke another hole??) i'm sure you could poke a whole lot of holes before the sealer failed.. but wouldn't the inner eventually stretch out of shape, and lose it's bead? the tubliss has wires in the bead to keep it from getting stretched permanently (and they still do slightly...)

i'm more intrigued by the bead buddy with a handle. where can i get one like that? or is that just a screwdriver welded onto it?

Yeah, getting the welder, a Bead Buddy, and an old screwdriver out this week.

I don't know, seems a little less user friendly, like if you want to check/adjust pressure on the trail. The liner/inner HP tube is likely very similar, performs the same function. No mechanical rimlock, because no LP stem to locate.

I tore the lugs off the side of a MX31 on the 300. They don't last at all. The MX51 hooks up just as good (especially when we're talk low pressures), however the 51 still wears down quite quickly in the grand scheme of things. I have never tried a 71. The 31 seems to hold up quite well in the front and behaves predictably. I have also noticed the MX51 seems to continue to hook up quite well and behave predictably through its entire life.

PS I ran 952's on my WR250F and they didn't even hook up all that well on that bike. They did last a long time though.

Cant see a problem checking the preasure on the trail, if you take the kit to do it with tubliss you only need take the small valve and needle.
I checked my preasures today and all were fine and no noticable loss.

Where are you located? I have never seen this in the USA, and our source of Mitas/trellborg tires has all but disappeared. If I'm missing something let me know.

Thanks for the offer. Tubliss has been good for me plus the customer service is fantastic. I would like to find a source for Mitas tires though. I liked the direct buy online store they had here but the site is all goofy now and the product links don't work right, like no one has been maintaining it.
