Where are the 2014 reviews/rumors????

Do you note decrease vibrations, specially with 300 2stroke?

Actually I didnt notice it until after the session, when I was back on my 2012... Vrrrrrr
So I did not get a chance to run it again and verify it, but it is probably a substatial reduction in vibes.

Very nice write up! I hope Gas Gas Spain doesn't drag there feet too long on getting the 14's over here. This is the right time of year around here for selling dirt bikes. I'm afraid if they wait too long guys might settle for a lesser quality bike:D instead of waiting for the Gas Gas.

Just talked to the GG sales manager. XC300 and XC250 E Starts due into the US in mid-October. Not bringing in the kick start only models, just e start versions.

Why no kick only? If I was in the market for a new bike I'd be a non e start buyer. This doesn't really pertain to me but I'm curious. Thanks

80% of my sales have been e start. If you add it, it costs about $1000. Even if you don't want it, you should still buy a bike with it because it is so much easier to re-sell. Take it off if you don't want it.

We don't usually see them until after the first of the year.

Clay,
I'm looking forward to seeing you and the bikes in October, hopefully both at Fred and Mary's place and at the National in Oklahoma.

I hope to join Clay in Oklahoma and help out with any questions, work the demo rides, and meet everyone we can. Really hope we have a few new GG's to see and ride by then.

Hey Mark, come earlier in the week and meet him here at the house.....We're doing demos the week before (hopefully Wd & Thurs). Jim Cook is going to try and make it as well

My local guy said they dropped 9lbs off the bike this year. Has anyone else heard that?

I've heard a similar figure, but a lot of that will have to come from the frame and new cases. The alloy subframe with plastic covers only saves 720g (1.59 pounds) over the 2012/13 plastic unit.

Interestingly the airbox assembly is almost as heavy as the alloy subframe, weighing in at 3.375 pounds or 1.5kg for our friends everywhere else in the world.

Yes, I said where in the hell did they cut that and he heard they cut the majority of the weight off the motor. I take it he heard this from our importer Dave but I could be wrong. That is an aweful lot of weight to cut however so hopefully it doesn't affect the solid build gassers are known for

Die cast side case could save a surprising bit of weight. The old sand cast clutch cover weighed 12 oz. In 2005, when GG went to a die cast version, the weight dropped 4 oz.! 33%. Extrapolate that to the side case and the 2014 could drop over a pound right there on one engine casting. Shouldn't affect reliability if the casting is done right. GG used really pure aluminum in the past in the sand castings.

Jim, I shall see you there. Although I will have to wrap that Barney shock with some electrical tape before I ride it.....
