2013 300XC Sub Frame

I'm just burned out and wan't out.
TMs are nice, but history here is full of turmoil as well.

I had only 4 rides on my bike before I flipped it,:o I can not give up on this bike yet. I have parts coming this week, (not even sure how much this is going to cost me at this point) just using the same plastic frame to get me riding again. (The alloy frame seems to be unattainable) My dealer tells me that there is a updated fix kit coming but no ETA to Canada at this point. My only hope is to get riding again and keep it rubber side down till the fix is available. I am not real happy about it but I have so much into this new bike, I can not turn back now. I will post up the results when I get it up and running again. Thanks to everyone for all the info.

Sorry to hear Glenn

Hopefully after some time out you'll find the love again.. Maybe with a Beta :D

As sexy as the TMs look, there seems to be a fair amount of technical issues associated with them. Particularly regarding engine setup.

I have owned at least 40+ bikes. They all have issues and you always have obstacles to overcome. Once you get past the pain of buying the alloy subframe and parts, thats the end of that problem. Then you can have many good years of riding ahead of you. If Clay called me tomorrow and tried to buy my bike back, I would tell him no way......thats how happy I am with my Gasser. Actually, I would like to find a nice Nambo as a 2nd bike.:)

Believe me, I have had more patience with these bikes over the years than most of you guys put together, because I liked the way they ran. I'm just tired of it, the time and $$ spent to get this thing right is madness. It will cost me a small fortune to upgrade the subframe as I need all the '13 parts, or again, I can figure out a way to use the '12 plastic and seat, more time. I'd prefer to try a different direction. I never rode the Beta, but I like the bike a lot from its build. I really like how the company works as far as support and parts, and the dealers are quite happy as well. Hell, you can custom order a bike and have it in 30 days! Air freight! Parts too!

I don't want to turn this thread into a big negative. We'll see what happens. The bike works very well now, no problems.

WAN, I hear ya! I too hope the rest of my parts arrive this week as I'm riding an enduro this weekend. My frustration was the breakage happened on the first ride. If I had the parts a week after it broke, I would not be sitting here writing this :(. The wait can sometimes be more painful.

And if the parts don't arrive, the good news is I was able to keep my Husky and she's ready to go. I will be riding this weekend, which it is really what it's all about :).

I have some idea's on small fixes for the GG that I will try to post with pics when putting things back together. Eagerly waiting for dem parts!

Keep in mind that even with the alloy subframe, you will certainly destroy the inner fender and likely the airbox in a similar crash/flip. Probably even easier because the stress riser is now at the end of the alloy sumframe rails. The seat still mounts to the plastic inner fender as well. Look at the drawings, the integration of the airbox/inner fender plastic is the same.

As much as a new bike always seems desireable, for guys who like to tinker, the real work is in the setup and tweaking. No way I would go through this every year or two.

I find "the devil you know" is often less trouble than starting the whole process again. Putting in a stock of the likely-to-be-damaged parts is the only way to avoid downtime. It's a shame the 12 bike has so many parts that can get trashed in a crash.

Motobrew, I have a Husky also, the only problem is that I left it in AZ, because all my trail riding up here is single track and that is why I bought the Gas Gas. (Although I did OK on the 449, it is just more bike) I wish I had of brought it home with me, but I am trying to avoid buying a trailer. This is the price I will have to pay for my decision to be cheap.:(

Problem is the "devil I know" has stuck me in the ass with his pitch fork one too many times.

Neil,

Thats a lot of cash to put into spares!

What I find very disappointing as an owner, and dealers should find even more so, is that fact that I can get a part directly from a Spanish dealer faster and cheaper than I can through the US supply chain. That really blew me away, I mean the guy got back to me ASAP twice, in English, and was more than happy to help.

Something is broken.

Wan, did I happen to meet you a couple months back on Montana mtn. road? My wife and I where both on gassers.
Yes that was me, I had to have one, so I ordered it and picked it up on my way home.

Maybe we can do some riding in the fall when I get back down south?

Very cool, nice meeting you. I kept commenting to my Wife how nice your husky was. Who did you end up getting your Gasser from?

Lang Off Road in Dorchester Ont. he is a small dealer and a enduro engineering suspension technician, a top notch mechanic, a real nice guy to deal with and knows what customer service is. I am confident that he will keep me riding. :)

It seem funny with all the talk of getting these subframe from Europe that GoFast has not chimed in on this issue!!! With a US answer.

It has to really suck for our dealers to see this. Like trying to compete with the big discount houses on general supplies and gear, but now OEM parts.
