Lectron Carb

I hear you, I broke my foot up bad in december and I rapped the sh$t out of it and rode anyway! I couldn't handle not riding for months while this thing healed.amazing what we will do to get that rush eh!

Thanks for the get well wishes Stoby. I reinjured my neck when I hit an overhanging limb with my head at speed. It caused some on-going neck pain and some tingling in my fingers, which concerns me since I have an artificial disk in my neck already. It's getting better, but it spooked me a bit. It's still too soon to know just how bad it is/was.

Sounds like a pinched nerve, My fingers still feel a little numb 3months later.
Good luck. go to a chiropractor, worth every penny.

Got my t3

Got my cable today Great Deal from RMATV $32 for the gasser t3 , it was cheaper then the stock length ktm one.Only problem is my bike is at my friends since his place was lots closer when my cable broke.Hes working til 8 so wont have bike til tomorrow.Hoping that removing the adjusting nut and grinding down the lectron adjuster will give me what I need. Got done work earlier would have liked to go out but,we'll see what tomorrow brings
Anyone else use the t3 on the lectron besides nambotrev?
Anyone else buy one recently?

give up

put everything together pretrial
then massaged lectron adjuster about 1/4 inch aluminum removed ,then peeled a little of the t3 throttle wheel adjuster. Still no go, im idling off the slide being to high. theres no slack in the throttle at all and if i turn bars watch out............ So now my keihin is back on and it blows compared to the lectron. But on the bright side my t3 works great with my old carb.
Im really disappointed .I guess i'll wait for the apt maybe by the time its available i'll have the funds. Maybe next week i'll try something else. I'm just done for now ,going out for a ride tonight and sunday so I need the bike rideable.

Seems like a lot of hassle for a simple cable. APT has emailed me asking what cable I plan to use, so expect things will be sorted out of the box.

cable

I got the one from them. It worked eventually...... I still had to modify it on the carb side and then on my second ride the cable came off the barrel on the throttle?????????????
Last time I actually broke a cable was on a mini bike!
I dont see how people are using them with the t3 I had zero slack and a high idle thats with grinding more than 1/4 inch of the adjuster removing adjuster nut completely and shaving 1/8 off the throttle ring and still it was right against the top of my tank
Its gonna find a home on my ktm
It was the balls but too much hassle I'm sick of working on things hence the carbs purchase supposedly less hassle -adjusting
4hrs of my life to end up where I started
Too funny
But I got almost 2 hrs in tonight so i'm smilin right now

sorry stoby i said id send you a quick vid and i still will on how i routed my t3. what part num t3 are you using?

cable

Its the 10-3000 . Ive got the same issue i had with the stock cable ,not enough cable outside the sheath. Theres no way to trim the t3 down like i did with the stocker. Do you have any slack? Is your cable controlling idle?

Trimming any cable sheath is a bad idea IMO, as you loose the protective ends, and can nick the cable. Can you say stuck throttle? Perhaps contact Motion Pro and give then the actual specs required, likely there is something that will work.

too much

yeah thought of doing that i'm just done for now.Its too bad cause it worked great for me. Now I have to set my carb,I had it set very rich for the cool weather and fresh top end .now its warming up and i have to change things around I was really looking forward to not doing that.....I never seem to get it just right so I try to make it a little rich and then leave it alone the rest of the year. lectron will probably end up on one of my other bikes. But I'm likely to change my mind by tomorrow....or not.......

I've got to admit that I wasn't thrilled to have to modify my stock cable to make it work, but it took me less than an hour to trim it and reroute it. Besides I had a new spare hanging on the wall, so I new I had a back up if I screwed up the original cable so I went for it. It's worked flawlessly for a few months now. I rerouted mine similar to trev's. I routed to the inside of the frame on the left side towards the front of where the tank sits in between the frame rails. That gave me enough play that I can turn the handlebars to the stops and still have a tad bit of play.

I still haven't tried the cable that I ordered from Lectron.

I'm still happy with my purchase. It may not be the latest and greatest, but it solved the fitment problems that I had with the stock carb, and my bike runs better then ever also.

I'm very careful about routing cables as I have a damper. Been down that road with a bad stuck throttle crash on a KTM300 from a snagged cable. I will not route behind the bars. I always buy a longer cable and route safely in front behind the number plate. If need be I'd get a couple custom cables made or just run the Keihin and hit up Lectron to do it for you.

Whats the deal with these carbs, do they have a longer slide travel?

I destroyed a complete KTM front end from a cable jerk (literally). A custom has got to be cheaper.

Double that. I made sure I routed mine properly, but still wish I could tiewire at the carb end with the lectron. I used a motionpro gas gas replacement 2.5" longer and there is more than enough room and thats with a underbar damper setup. The cable came from the factory with not enough trimmed off to even work with the Keihin, so like ST I just trimmed some of the outer sheath back and then it was good to go.
