Newer Plastic on Older GasGas show your bike

Well thats it for me for today, I have reached an all time low in all my years of bike ownership! Nothing fits or lines up!! Everything is such hard work to fit, I believe the problem lies in the front panel of the airbox too far forward or at the wrong angle and everything back from that is wrong!!. As for why the seat won't go over the fuel tank is still a mystery to me!!!

:confused::mad::confused::mad::confused::mad:

It's beer'o'clock!

It's a nightmare and driving me insane!

The seat sits like this when I haven't wrestled it down!

The airbox covers don't meet up with the side panels!

The mudguard is about 10mm shy of meeting up with the airbox!

I don't think i'm being too OCD I just think it should be easy to take apart, clean and put back together in the future and look like it's supposed to be like this!. This is not!!!!

How utterly depressing......

Getting bits from CCM was like that when i had my dual-sport. Nothing ever fitted, holes would be out etc etc :(

Fingers crossed you have a brainwave / see a way of doing what you want / see something you've missed.

Mine took a lot of fettling to get it all to sit right mate, so don't give up yet. Getting the seat on for the first time was a 2 man job - one to push down and one to push forward! Thankfully since then it's an easy one man operation

Its a bit of a hassle but mabye try and take out the front airbox panel then put the rest together so you can see where the front panel wants to sit the air boot on mine is pretty close to the shock spring also could try heat up the air boot and leave out the top subframe bolts so you can move it all and find where it wants to sit as mine lines up pretty well i did bend the top subframe mount tabs abit to make it sit more centered hope that helps abit

Gonna strip it back and start again tomorrow!

My right side air box panel to rear fender looked like yours on the first install :mad:. Take it apart and try it again, it will fit.

On my bike I used a 2011 air box boot. It fit real well around shock and onto the carb.

OK guys thanks for all of the tips and advice! I stripped off all the plastics and used a couple of ratchet straps to pull the air box back. It only needed a very small amount but it's an improvement! I have bolted all the plastics back on and will leave it for a few days to see if it settles.

I'm having the forks revalved and they should be back next week then it should all come together and I can see if I can get it running after completing my first engine rebuild! :rolleyes:
